OT: 2023 CFB TV Ratings Thread

possible and good take. either way, our numbers are far from bad in the grand scheme of things. I'd imagine this week they will be higher as people tune in to see if we are bowl eligable. of course it would help if we had local media promote us

Agree 100%

Alas my household won't count towards viewership this weekend - will be at the game.

Okay.. so, BTN maybe should be compared to itself (or PAC or ACC network noon games for comparisons.. which I have not done).

BTN noon Saturday ratings week by week

9/2 Fresno State/Purdue 343K
9/9 Youngstown State/Ohio State 1.22M
9/16 BTN G.Southern/Wisconsin or Louisville/Indiana 828K
9/23 Rutgers/Michigan 1.94M
9/30 PSU/NW or Louisiana/Minnesota 1.12M
10/07 no noon BTN game? curious.. contract with NBC B1G game?
10/14 Michigan State/Rutgers 503K

You know.. I don't see this source.. sportsmediawatch.. listing PAC or ACC networks at all. The highest-rated noon BTN game had Rutgers (vs the cheaters).

ACCN, SECN and PACN aren’t released for whatever reason. Even the BTN wasn’t released until recently like maybe a year or two ago.

Obviously, ESPN is boosting ratings. Hard to believe there are more people tuning in to New Mexico State vs. UTEP than Rutgers v. Indiana if all of those households actually had BTN. But maybe the 7 p.m. time slot and only game (maybe one other) on TV had something to do with it. Also, Rutgers/Indiana was up against some big games on national TV.

terrible numbers this week

2 BIG opponents and one going to bowl consideration. this is the first week I'm disappointed in the numbers.

need to get more media support in state
It was on at noon against Indiana up against Penn State/Ohio State, Oklahoma/UCF, MSU/Ark and Navy/Airforce. The numbers is good because honestly outside of Rutgers fans and the handful of IU no one is tuning into this games.

no I get the variables but it's still bad. we need NJ media to jump on the bandwagon

All
About which tv window. The CBS, Fox, NBC games get 10x as many viewers as the FS1 and BTN games.
OSU Michigan is noon and it’ll be on Fox because they have first pick before the season even starts.

Some picks are before the season and some are in season and OSU Michigan is always first dibs.

Was wondering in the games thread if the SEC champ game could do mid high teens and looks like it did.
