I just upgraded to 4K on my YouTube TV account because I’m annoyed by the lack of crispness of sports on my TV. I don’t think it’s my TV ( Sony Bravia OLED A8 4K 2020 model) because content on HBO Max and Disney + looks awesome.

Question is: is there enough live content in 4K on YouTube Tv to pay the extra $10 a month?

Personally I didn’t think so. I pay for 4K streaming capability on Netflix/HBO Max but don’t for YouTube Tv after giving it a try. Trial it for a month or two and see. If you don’t think it’s enough cancel it.

A lot of what is called "4K" is just content captured in standard HD and then upscaled. A regular image is just inflated to a larger size. Fox will actually capture games in native 4K but ESPN upscales. Some 4K is also HDR and that can be a problem if TV cant render full color gamut (HRD without full color gamut can look dark or tinted). Most movies etc in 4k are upscaled. For me 4K isn't worth it yet. I had Netflix in 4k and the whole thing was a nothingburger. But that was a few years ago. I would like to see a Fox game captured in 4k but even if I liked it there's not much of a reason to go 4K for just a few things. I use a 42" TV and HD is fine for that size

Yeah I upgraded for the NFL playoffs and Olympics but not sure if any of it is in 4K

Think only Fox is doing 4K/HDR for NFL playoffs.

YouTube TV announced earlier this month they'd have Olympics in 4K.

Having to pay extra is lame, but I'd keep it for a month or two just for those and see if anything else makes it worthwhile beyond (guessing no).

I think broadcasters should focus on a 1080p 120FPS as a standard before 4K. That actually helps the viewing experience much more.
