There's some smoke out there about why but we'll have to wait and see.

Georgetown's gonna be rough now, they were their two best players.

Wondering what happened? Akinjo would look good in Scarlet if he didn’t do anything wrong? Would certainly be ironic if we got Akinjo over Maclung :)

Word is they did something very wrong, unfortunately.

Per certain internet sources, they were involved in:

- Sexual Harrassment against Women
- Burglaries
- Threatening potential witnesses / victims.

One had a restraining order already assessed against them.

Ive read all over on this.

Akinjo has not been named in anything. It was 2-3 other players in all court filings. I gather he said **** this, half the talent is gone this is a sinking ship.

Georgetown always seemed to have some questionable players. JT would give them a chance, and show them the door if they soiled the nest. Those kids always played hard. Imagine he turned a few of those kids around with tough love. Good on him. Think that continued under JT3, and maybe under Patrick Ewing, who would surely have questionable kids on a short leash.

This seems to be correct although there are still some whispers.

Leblanc sat out the opener and nothing was mentioned as why....this filing was before the season started.....looks like everyone knew this was coming down the pipe and GTown decided to play the kids anyway.

McClung going to be the primary guard to score with the 2 starters lost. The larger question will be the fallout on Ewing and the season.

Stop with the nonsense.
So you just ignore the issues with the womens program? Criminals booted from team last year and an incoming transfer criminal? Do you want me to post arrest reports?
If you can't take a joke stay in your little bubble with your tinted glasses.

The transfer got a 500$ fine. Dorm fight. what a crime. try not to be such a crybaby

"Incoming transfer criminal". Get over yourself.

People on here talking a lot of trash considering a player last season was kicked off the team for “terroristic threats”

That was 1 player involved in an isolated domestic issue.

This is 20% of the roster involved in multiple issues including threatening witnesses to not speak.

WAY different

Alexis Morris has a long pattern and history of discipline and legal issues. Beating the shit out of her girlfriend was just the documented one. Before you talk out of your ass do some digging, reach out to somebody with first hand info. I did.

Anyone want to post odds Patrick Ewing makes it out of this?

Even money he lasts the season?
I'd say that as long as Ewing didn't do anything wrong, and as long as he has the support of JT2, he will be the head coach next season.

If he knew about these and only gave a slap on the wrist (LeBlanc sat out one game early in the year, they didn't give a reason why) then he's going to be in hot water.

We don't know what else LeBlanc had to do as punishment (I'm hoping a great deal). I'm surprised he wasn't kicked out of school on a violation of student code of conduct type of thing tbh.

Georgetown, as they have a history of doing, tried to keep this out of the media. I'd bet dollars to donuts that Ewing consulted with JT2 and the AD. JT2 recommended the punishment of one game and some other stuff that should be kept from the public and the AD said something like 'Yes my master, it shall be done."

As long as Ewing has JT2's support and, as long as Georgetown is afraid of JT2 walking away from the program, Georgetown will be this program that was once great in the 80's and had a few good seasons after that.

Meanwhile former Georgetown coach Craig Esherick is teaching a class at George Mason and probably thinking "All things considered, I'm glad I'm not teaching at Georgetown."

Play me a tune on your sad violin, string man

Remember this isn’t NJ or Rutgers we are talking about here. Let’s see how this is handled.

Things are different now. There's evidently a list going around the student body of athletes alleged to have committed sexual assault and Akinjo was on it. Georgetown isn't necessarily a liberal school but it's a very politically and culturally engaged school, which means that the students who do care about this stuff really care about it and will take measures to have justice done (in their eyes). They don't care about John Thompson. And Patrick Ewing played at Georgetown 15 years before the current undergraduates were even born so they don't care about him either.

Of course there will be staunch Thompson/Ewing defenders among the boosters but as soon as there's a whiff of a covered-up sexual assault allegation, smart institutions run away in 2019.

I've seen Tweets about this list. Some of them point out inaccuracies on who created the list and about who is on the list so I'm not sure who or what to believe about the list.

Full disclosure: I can't stand Georgetown and don't want them to have nice things. In fact, my mantra is "I don't care what time it is Georgetown still sucks." So if this blows up in Georgetown's face I'm not going to shed a tear. However, I am also not going to rush to judgement that Georgetown or Coach Ewing did anything wrong. Trying to keep info from the media is not a crime.

Georgetown has become a leading liberal political and educational center.

Maybe they did what just about every other school but RU does. They got word of the charges, conducted an investigation (about 30 days) and then determined that there was enough evidence to kick the offenders off the team. At RU, as soon as the arrest happens, no matter what the offense or the facts, they are kicked off the team.

I hope this was not Ewing's decision. Definitely not a good look right now. Seems way too light of a punishment

Georgetown basketball trying to go back to its roots --- team of thugs. At least the school in taking appropriate steps.
