OT:another MLB team in NY has a closer with domestic abuse problems

Cut him, I can't stand this $hit, and take Reyes also. You can have your Chapman next year, and anyone else that might help your team make the playoffs. He sucks in the playoffs anyway. Maybe that's what she told him and got a beat down. Can't these jerk offs realize they have a gift, and a chance to set themselves up for life? Give me a team of young kids willing to run through a wall, and play hard every night, and respect their elders and family.

Chapman "sucks in the playoffs"? Really?

Career - 17 IP, 7 runs, 4 ER 7 walks, 22 K's 2.02 ERA
This Year - 10.6 IP, 3 runs, 3 ER, 4 walks, 18 K's, 2.08 ERA
World Series - 4.4 IP, 1 run, 1 ER, 2 walks, 9 K's, 1.67 ERA (including tonight)

...I think those stats are correct.

Sorry you couldn't follow my train of thought,I meant Familia, as in"maybe she told him that and got a beat down". I agree it jumped around a little in my statement, but I didn't mean Chapman, obviously.

The Mets should keep him, play him and, if they are not going to contend, trade him at the deadline for a few prospects.

That's too shrewd a move for the mets to ever make.
And besides, how could the mets NOT contend next season ? Won' t they have like six 20-game winners in their rotation in April ?

Or they could keep him, play him, and then trade him before they really fall out of the race, costing them a chance at the playoffs. Wait, where did I see that before?lol

Like you thought the Yanks were gonna make the playoffs, let alone do well when they got there.
Mets fans are always so jealous of the Yankees. We significantly upgraded our minor league talent....one site I saw had the Yankees currently with the second best minor league talent...and still finished with three less wins than the mighty mets. And we scored as many runs in the playoffs as the mets did.
Wait 'til next year.

If the charges and evidence is legit, Familia should be waived, point blank. I see same Yankee fans harping on Familia are already quoted of saying that they would take back or just defend Chapman in a heartbeat, even though he did the same thing.

After being a Yankee for half a season.
Tico, I don't think he realizes Chapman is a free agent, and many Yankee fans have stated they want him back. I guess if your good in the playoffs and punch out your women it's OK to take him back, but if you suck in the playoffs, like Familia, you won't take him back. I wouldn't want either of those women beaters back. Cut the fu@k.

When did Chapman punch out his woman ?

I'm sorry, my bad,he nearly choked her to death, and then to blow off a little steam, fired off 8 shots in his garage. Yup, sounds like a model citizen. Punch out, choke, both domestic violence, not much of a reason for a correction. Let's just caulk it up to both are POS, and I wouldn't want either. Throw in Reyes while your at it.

Sorry, I wasn't aware of the "nearly choked her to death" part. Not good.

These guys need to get their tempers under control. Most of the time these altercations are initiated over the dumbest nonsense. Do what I do and say "ok I guess your right" turn around and walk away.

Cleared, but as a Mets fan, I say trade his ass anyway. There be more problems down the road, and his post season record is average AT best.http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/...e-new-york-mets-closer-jeurys-familia-dropped

"CLEARED" ????
The charges were dropped. I don't know exactly what happened in this incident.....and neither do you. But "cleared" ? Somehow I get the feeling that you wouldn't be so quick to use that word if he was on the Yankees.

Cleared, dropped, I don't give a [reproductive act with a goat]. I'm not defending him,I want him off the team. Yea Chapman, you can have him and get Familia as your setup man, they both are POS.

The sad truth is, there's no integrity in sports when $$ and success is involved. Mets,Yankees, Jurich, Briles, Stoops, Paterno, etc, even Flood and his silly undercover Princeton library embarrassment. And in life, generally. All big energy CEOs are climate change deniers. Our RU grad current AG of West Virginia is against 'clean energy'...who would have guessed.
