Someone I know went on a cruise with a group and they knew cell coverage would be an issue outside ports.. and even in some ports.. A lot of folk used to buy walkie talkies to allow for person-to-person communication wile in different parts of the ship. But the popularity of that makes that an issue...
But there had to be an app for that, right?
Enter FireChat... available on android and iphone, it is an app that uses the bluetooth radios of your smarthones to create a mesh network to allow everyone in that network to chat/text eachother inside FireChat.
So, I was curious.. with various issues with making calls at the stadium.. is anyone using firechat to communicate within their group? The more people that turn their BT one and run FireChat, the better the network would be.
