You need to read up on what Communism is then. Because you don't seem to know it.
There is no large scale community owned property in the Russian Federation. It is all privately owned or state owned (Putin owns the state), much by private capitalistic corporations (Putin owns the corporations)...
The term "oligarchs" would not be thrown around if it were communist. We have our own oligarchs in the US also. We just choose not to call them that. But that's what people like Bezos, Musk are and what Rockefeller and Carnegie were.
The difference is that Russia is an autocratic state where the oligarchs and the state are owned and ruled by Putin (this is why some say he is the richest person in the world). While we live in a state that is pseudo-democratic where oligarchs rule Congress (so there is more squabbling and less gets done for good or for bad).
BTW in ideal Communism there is no concept of state. Everything is community owned and community governed. It relies on the unselfishness of humanity to work. But human greed and selfishness are the reasons it has failed wherever it was tried at scale. And that makes sense as that is how our brains developed to survive as a species.
Capitalism is a better match for our current iteration of human nature.

Griner is a possible bargaining chip down the road (at best). I doubt she holds much value to the US though compared with intelligence and military personal that have been captured by the Russians.
Not going to debate your dictionary description of what a communist country is or isn’t. Simply it is still a communist country which has taken bits and pieces from socialism and capitalism in order to somewhat survive in the global realm . We understand the system . Putin being the master manipulator of the Russian people has shown he has planned this for many years. Don’t care about the oligarchs …Putin is an Oligarch and a communist. He never changed his thinking from early on in life. There is no human aspect to Putin…none whatsoever.Communism does that to you.

Those are mutually exclusive. How can he be an oligarch when he controls all the oligarchs?
What makes it a communist country in your mind, even though it is run by a bunch of billionaires who in turn are ruled by an autocrat?
Billionaires who symbolically own most of the private enterprise in Russia. But which is indirectly owned by Putin.
Do you just equate communism with authoritarianism?

When the Soviet Union became capitalist Russia he worked in the that system as a true beliver in order to gain enough power to rule it and make the Russian capitalism into what he and his minions could subjugate into a system that keeps Putin in power and makes them , especially Putin, rich in the process..
Yes he's an Oligarch, yes he "was" a commie but now he's working the capitlist system into one that is more in tuned with Fascism , where a few benefit the most from a capitalist system and the commoner is left with the scraps while the state allows little opposition to what Putin and his cronies are involved in , either in the business dealing made within the country or the political landscape of Russia..
Like the way a commie or fascist state is run, Putin's version of a capitalist state is the same.

When Jonathan Franks first heard that the American basketball star Brittney Griner had been detained in Russia, his initial sense was one of disbelief.
Russia announced that they will hold Brittney for at least another two months/May 19th. She is going to have some serious PTSD.
Russia will be milking all they can out of her arrest in order to get something they value, the US will give them ( maybe a Russian that America is holding) in exchange for treating Brittany fairly.

Thanks for that reply. I responded to your post(now deleted) because I personally found it to be racist, and extremely inappropriate/homophobic. If a possible recruit, or their parent were to read it might be a real negative that could expand to other potentials as well.
