Kinghtmoves was? correct . We forgot:
1) Schiano only won 2-3 games a year for the Buccaneers
2) Had difficulty with some players/staff?
3) When at Rutgers was considered "the enemy"-Rutgers took out USF
when USF was #2 in the country. Forgiving fans-As a Yankees fan I'm not a red Sox hater
to the max (also my last 4+ vacation was to Boston though it was due to landing "Green
Monster tickets" that appeased my friends on the board and gave me both a ride to Boston-and
two days of Jimmy Buffett in Mansfield as well as a surprise incredible whale watching trip!)
but when I heard Curt Schilling wanted to run for US Senate in MA this totally supported person
with maybe $30 in the bank then (see) Schilling2018.com.
4) Many Rutgers and Bucs fans feel Schiano is not a good game day coach,
In coaching circles Schiano may be known as a micromanager who is difficult to get along with.
5) If a team is considered a decent program who has won before-and has millions to spend on
a coach each year, they can probably land a better coach than Schiano.
Thus, Schiano could theoretically land only a lesser P5 job at max. Also Schiano was a Jersey boy
with maybe some Florida, PA and OH "roots". Outside of these areas
Schiano's recruiting isn't guaranteed to be at the same "level," as RU. Remember,
Schiano also NEVER won the Big East.
For you "youngster" let AshSaturday tell you the story
of a great guy, who was ranked the #2 recruiter in the Country who became head coach of Rutgers.
His name was Doug Graber. A great guy (with my limited contact) who loved and still loves RU.
Won a few pro football titles overseas. At Rutgers he landed a few great players but never went better
than 7-3? in a not so strong league (admittedly he didn't have the good academic support system
and facilities we now have and before his biggest game his top assistant was caught in
a crack house (and coincidentally RU lost).
