OT: Electric vehicles

I do know why anyone will buy a panamera at this point. You might as well discontinue that model.
Agree - I’ve been looking to buy a pre-owned Panamera for the last 2 years. The Taycan put an end to that. Still love the Panamera but doesn’t make sense with the Taycan on the road.

Ha ha ha. Q3 2021 over Q3 2019? And the headline? Ha ha ha ha.

The real analysis is why is Tesla, who had a YUGE lead in EVs, and only sells EVs, not doing even better at a time when EV growth is so explosive? 2 Taycans, from late to the game Porsche, for every Model S might be part of the reason. And the Taycan can’t even compete on specs. Hm.

The CT was nothing more than a publicity stunt. The original design will never hit the production line.
Maybe. But I'm coming to learn that Musk isn't shy about injecting his weirdness into the business. The weird and goofy "CyberTruck", which would more accurately be named "VaperwareTruck" at this stage, seems like exactly the kind of screwy thing Musk might push hard for, along the same lines as the mind-blowingly stupid yoke steering non-wheels (assuming it is Musk forcing that blunder).

Yeah, the Tesla spam is getting embarrassing.

Lot of other interesting things going on with electric and electrified vehicles on a daily basis.

guess he can't back up any of his arguments so gets to posting propaganda instead. the dumbest part of it all is that people like him are giving away advertising and marketing services away for free while elon laughs all the way to the bank.

Self-fulfilling prophecy on the free marketing they were so adamant about.

That's the undignified part of being in a cult. People actually become convinced to feel privileged to financially support their object of worship. In cases where that object is a person, that person is virtually always so narcissistic that they wouldn't pee on their worshipers if they were on fire.

At least some Teslarati bought the stock early on and may eventually profit from it some, if they manage to sell at the right time.

Compare any q/q you like. You'll notice a trend.
>50% growth y/y with increasing margins while lowering ASP. Yeah, they should really do better.
Tesla produced exactly 0 Model S Jan-May this year. But I'm sure you knew that.

See, that's just the thing you seem to fail to understand.

We all already knew that Tesla's doing a fine job selling EVs. It should, given it's head start and it's encouragement of such cultish loyalty. This is not news. Nor is it particularly interesting to anybody that's not a Tesla cultist.

Most well-adjusted car owners like their car and hope the manufacturer stays in business to service it. They do not go around spamming the world about their car, or the brand.

We're all messing with you here, all in good fun. But in most car forums, your posting behavior with respect to Tesla would get you one warning and then banned for life. Spamming for a particular vender is typically prohibited except in designated vendor areas.

I suspect you will fail entirely to understand the point here. But I feel compelled to try anyway.

Even on manufacturer specific car forums, they frown upon people splooging all over their choice of vehicle. The whole point of discussion is point vs counterpoint. but...with a cult, it's point...and 🙉🙉🙉🙉to the counterpoint.

Always curious as to when a cult becomes a religion. Musk is nothing if not a prophet. 🙂

As someone in at $56 per share I must admit to feeling extreme gratitude to the man, if not quite worship. Actually he has multiplied my investment far more dramatically than Jesus with the fishes.

Tomorrow's 3rd quarter earnings should be interesting.

I'd expect a short-term pullback on the earnings. But if you're in at $56, I guess a 5 or 10% drop doesn't affect your mood too much.

Foxconn getting in the game...

Is this the company that got a huge subsidy from the State of Wisconsin? Did they deliver on building factories/creating jobs?

The last I heard they had only produced about 1/10th the number of promised jobs, but I haven't followed the company so closely.

A final note: Competition is good.

The Telsa haters just can't let it go. Ever. Any pro-Telsa post gets their blood boiling and furiously begin posting their counter-points. Now, we're learned that Teslaphiles would be banned from other car boards.

They also are a major

They are a major manufacturer of iPhones and for every other electronics hardware manufacturer. They have issues with workers committing suicide in their Chinese plants. The employ hundreds of thousands of people and, if they put their mind to it, can crank out high volumes of whatever the hell they want.

If God himself were to plop himself down in front of me and somehow make it indisputably clear that it's really him and not some higher functioning organism posing as a God (good luck proving that, but that's a discussion for another day in another thread), then instead of falling to my knees in obsequious simpering worship, I'd start working down a laundry list of complaints and demand some explanations for such design flaws as infant cancer and the lack of a simple on-off-switch for getting pregnant (the lack of which is one of few design flaws worse than the yoke in Models S and X).

It'd be some conversation, let me tell you. I believe God would probably come away feeling I might have a small problem with authority (my retort to which would be, well for Christ's sake man, you designed me this way).

Anyway, I'm glad that you've done well and hope that continues. But I'd suggest that worship is never appropriate or healthy under any circumstance.

Have they? Good. I hope that, between the price of gas, and the inability for folks who park on the street or in decks or garages to easily charge their EVs, the congestion on the roads will finally cease and I can enjoy burning the ever loving crap out of those fossils at a furious rate like I did during the early days of the pandemic while everybody stayed home.

Why pay for advertising when your customers do it for you?
Are you serious? Most of the YouTubers admit they get free stuff from Tesla. I remembered when I was researching the power wall, the YouTuber said after his last review Tesla shipped him a free Power wall.
