Let me put the figures in perspective for you.Let me put the figures in perspective for you.
Porsche sold 41,296 Taycans in 2021. That’s almost as many as model S sold by Tesla in the last 3 years. Tesla never sold more than 30k model S in a year, ever.
That’s just Porsche. I’m not even including competition from other luxury car makers that produces 6 figures 4 door performance EV sedans.
Let me put the figures in perspective for you.
Tesla sold almost 1 million units in 2021. >50% increase in production for 2022. Should we compare VW vs Tesla too?
Tesla doesn't release individual production #s for S. They combine them with X, so not sure where your getting your data from. Probably a TSLAQ website. Lesson learned?
This is a silly debate. I already said I hope Porsche sells a shit ton of Taycans. EVs aren't in competition with each other. There is no "EV market", just a vehicle market. Every EV sold is 1 less ICE on the road. That's a good thing.
The hilarious thing, in case you’ve lost the capacity to laugh at yourself, is that you think Tesla has no marketing department. Go back and read your post. The Teslarati are the marketing department. Unpaid. If that makes you happy, enjoy. I just think’s it’s funny when people freely give their time, for no personal gain, in order to financially benefit a billion dollar company, or a billionaire.Find the post where I said that.

Least they could do is give you the car for free, if you’re gonna work that hard for them, no?
Me, I make dealerships remove all dealer badging from a new car unless they want to pay my hourly rate for hosting their advertising on my property. I don’t work for anybody for free, unless it’s some kind of charitable cause or helping out a friend. Doesn’t matter how much I might like a particular product.
Each to their own.
You started the debate. Btw, it was closer to 900k than one million units 😀.Let me put the figures in perspective for you.

No, no. The only way any manufacturer other than Tesla could possibly sell even one vehicle, is if Tesla lets them do so. The 41K in Taycan sales is because it’s all part of Lord Elon‘s master plan.Let me put the figures in perspective for you.

World’s Top 5 EV Automotive Groups Ranked By Sales: Q1-Q3 2021
Since the global passenger plug-in car sales numbers for Septemer 2021 are in, let's take a look at the results from the perspective of the automotive groups.insideevs.com
21.5% is hardly "dominant".
Because Evs are gaining popularityNope, but they are gaining popularity. Why is that?
So... you're going to start breaking down a segment, plug in EV's, to even smaller subsegments to try and make yourself feel better about fellating Elon? At least have some dignity and admit that you're just one of Elon's whores.Drunk already?
Why are you quoting the word dominant when I never used it.
Did you know the Wuling mini EV is included in your figures? I'm going to guess no.
"Differing point of view" lol. Since when should being a propaganda machine be accepted? But has a million and one excuses to try and discount any perspective that doesn't fit the teslarati narrative. So... the rest of our perspectives don't matter? Facts don't matter? Just the tweets of a self serving billionaire? You are a disgusting immature ass. People have a different point of view and you print that crap. Find something else to do - Of course I am sure it will be alone?

I don't think it's crap... but it's disingenuous. It's vinyl. Paying a premium for vinyl is ridiculous.Vegan leather is crap also... I really hope all these ev companies wake up sooner than later and offer the real deal. Their hiding behind "environmental" but it's just code for ways to raise margins and suckering the consumer.
Its absolutely disengenuous...it's a marketing tactic/ploy. Call it premium, charge you more for something that's worse, pull on your heart strings (animal cruelty & global warming) to make you do it, meanwhile they're using something that's petroleum based.I don't think it's crap... but it's disingenuous. yes, my thoughts exactly. Its absolutely disengenuous...it's a marketing tactic/ploy. Call it premium, charge you more for something that's worse, pull on your heart strings (animal cruelty & global warming) to make you do it, meanwhile they're using something that's petroleum based.
You've been able to get vinyl seats for 30 years for less, now all of a sudden it's "premium" ?! GTFOH

Yeah, mb-tex is another one. I'm fine offering it, but give people a choice. It's been a thing for awhile, albeit not with the whole "eco-friend" part. Supercars, and some other high-end luxury cars, started using what amounts to fake suede (i.e. petroleum-based) material to cars in lieu of real leather or suede. Different manufactures have different names for the fake stuff, and in fact some people actually prefer the feel of it.
But it's way, way cheaper for the manufacturers to make and install than actual leather. Yet they often made it a pricey "upgrade" option for their cars. Porsche refers to it as "Race-Tex". But it's just plastic, basically.
It does feel nice, but it's widely reported to not have the longevity and wear-characteristics of real leather, especially on steering wheels or stick-shifts (on manuals or on dual-clutch autos w/a manual shifter in additional to paddles).
And yeah, my feeling is GTFOH too. Have no problem with it being offered. It's the idea that it wouldn't be offered either as standard or as a cost-saving option instead of real leather. To actually charge more for it is ridiculous.
Over the weekend, Ford updated my delivery from 4.20 to 3.17. This was confirmed by the dealer who ran a vehicle visibility report. The car was returned to the factory on 2.10 from off site for its final chips. Hopefully the reported 3.17 eta is for arrival at the dealer and not when it’s leaving Mexico.Steve, I don’t know if you have already done this, but have you contacted Brad Brownell and Elena Ford? They are in the Executive level of Ford Customer Service and I have seen on the Maverick message boards people with long term delays have looked into it and been very helpful. I am sorry but I do not know their emails or phone numbers. You are probably 100 times better at google than me. Wouldn’t hurt to try. Best of luck.
I am starting to think The Walking Dead isn’t a documentary.Funny, but there are no charging stations nears Bahrs in Atlantic Highlands…
Steve, I am 99 percent sure that March 17 is your delivery date at your dealership. Ford has made thousands of Mavericks ahead of time so they are all ready to ship once the microchips come in. They have them parked right near the plant. Earlier in the year, they parked thousands and thousands of F150s in the parking lot at Kentucky Speedway. It was really cool to see. So many vehicles of various colors parked next to each other. That parking lot is now completely empty with all the F150s delivered to customers.Take a look—Over the weekend, Ford updated my delivery from 4.20 to 3.17. Texans May Have to Pay $200–$400 Fee for Driving an Electric Vehicle
Since EVs are no longer helping the state out with a gasoline tax, legislators are working on a new way to collect from vehicle owners.www.caranddriver.com
Other states have been doing this. I think someone mentioned New Jersey hasn’t started yet. Maybe they will just raise the tolls some more on roads that were supposed to do away with them 50 years ago.we all knew this was coming. the free ride is going to come to an end soon.
Steve, on mavericktruckclub.com, I have seen a fair amount of posters mention their truck arrived BEFORE the estimated date. Some an entire week early.According to the Ford tracker my car was built yesterday, 2/14, and they are arranging transportation. Having an eta of 3/17 is consistent with the month or so, at the best of times, it takes to get a Mach E from Mexico via rail and truck. Btw it‘s a real wheel, extended range, red, premium 2021.
Ford stopped taking orders for 2022 Mach Es on 2/11. The 2022 I originally ordered 10/1 still hasn’t received its VIN.
