OT: England v Canada

England up 2 - 1.

England scored on a bad mistake by a Canadian central defender. Second goal for England came quickly after on a beautiful played pass for a header over the keeper.

Canada battling back in what's become a very intense game. Just scored on putting England back on their heels.

I think the ref is not having a good game - England is beating up on Canada w/fouls. Some called, some not called that should be.

Sesselman's error was one of the worst I've ever seen and she made some really bad errors in the back during the group stage, too. Feel bad for her, but that's sports. That was a really pretty 2nd goal, though. Really thought Canada might tie it up after Sinclair's goal late in the first half, but they just couldn't make that last good pass in the English zone and England played excellent defense.

Kind of a shame that the top two ranked teams, the US and Germany, are meeting in the semis and not, possibly, in the finals. Should be a good match, as we might be peaking at the right time, coming off our best game of the tourney, while Germany was lucky to beat France. I know you're a bigger Wambach fan than I am - I think we just played our best game, mostly without her, and still like her coming off the bench, so she's fresh for the endgame (she is 35).
