My friend can't seem to get any help with cashing in these bearer bonds.

Any ideas? Story is below.

Massachusetts Health and Educational Facility Authority

, as you are aware, I have inherited some Bearer Bonds/Coupon Bonds issued by the above agency.
The bond was written on behalf of Norwood Hospital.
The bond was underwritten by:
Baybank Norfolk County Trust Company
Baybank Boston, N.A.
Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co.
I have been trying to determine how to go about redeeming these bonds. I have been to many Federal agencies and state agencies along with Computershare.
No one has been able to assist me. They keep kicking the can down the road to another agency.
The bonds came due on July 1 2014.
As we discussed, can you post this issue on the Rutgers board to see if anyone may be able to assist me as to where to go next?
I have spoken with:
Unclaimed Property/Funds for Mass as well as NJ.
SEC Municipal Securities
Mas Attorney General
Chase Bank who said the last holder of the bonds was U.S. Bank. They have not responded to any of my attempts to contact them.

What Federal, State, County and Municipal governments are expertly efficient at...

Interesting, it was owned by Steward Health Care which apparently went into bankruptcy.

Are you sure this isnt from a Saudi prince, who just needs help moving money to an American account? And will only need to use your bank account but will promise you 50% of the $$?

If Case Bank's information is correct, It sounds like he is on the right track to contact U.S. Bank. They have branches all over.

If you're not finding answers
A quick google found this:
>The U.S. government states that if you have bearer bonds, you can send the bonds and coupons to the Treasury using insured mail. You should also include payment instructions, primarily an address, where the government can send the check. You will also need to include an IRS Form W-9.
Old bearer bonds issued by corporations may or may not have retained their face value, even if the maturity dates have long since expired. The holder of a corporate bearer bond can check for the name of the company that issued it and contact that company if it still exists, or the company that bought it out, if it was taken over. The bearer bond may be honored.<
I wouldn't follow that advice completely but I will suggest you contact the Department of the Treasury by phone about this and/or if they can direct you to a government agency that can say if those bonds can be cashed and where you can take them to be cashed .
