So many iconic movies/roles. Hoosiers, Miracle on Ice, Superman. They are talking about him on 101.5 and all his great movies. Look like I need to see a lot more of his movies. RIP

His greatest talent was picking great roles in projects that would become successful. He didn't take every role just those that he believed had a better than average chance to become great. So many great movies! Some of my favorites besides the obvious were Enemy of the State, Bat*21, Get Shorty, The Quick and the Dead... so many more
Complete shame. Mississippi burning is one of my favorite movies that he made.
Don't forget his stellar performance as the pastor in The Poseidon Adventure
A great actor. I am a big fan of Crimson Tide. To me it is interesting watching him and Denzel Washington resist the urge to chew up the scenery in a couple of really tense scenes in the movie. Both of them are great actors, it was a joy seeing them work together. RIP Mr. Hackman and his companions. Condolences to their families.

OtT to this thread but Michelle Trachtenberg (Eurotrip, Gilmore Girls, Buffy) was found dead in her parent's NYC Apt. Age 39.
She had been dealing with health issues including a kidney transplant not too long ago.
Hackman was a great all time actor. Loved him in Get Shorty, Hoosiers, and The Unforgiven.

Not that it makes much difference but I believe she had a liver transplant not kidney.
A truly great actor, played many different types of characters. . RIP. I really liked him in some of his less known roles like Reds, No Way Out, Get Shorty, Narrow Margin and Absolute Power.

One other dog inside was fine.
It may have been carbon monoxide but it's labeled suspicious by the authorities.
Yes , I read the article. I was referencing the above suggestions that it was probably carbon monoxide poisoning and pointed out that it may not be that.

Man - this is a huge loss. He was one of the best. Sad day for sure. I loved almost everything he did.
I was surprised he hasn't made a movie in 21 years. Would have thought it was more recent than that.
I was surprised to see that he was 95 years old….that probably has something to do with it.
also the actress who played Miss Yvonne on the Pee Wee Herman Show and movies passed away earlier this week. I believe she was part of the famed Groundlings comedy group
