OT: Girls shouldn't get tatooes

Hahahahaha...so who cares when she's 40 or so??

First of all, nobody should care, whether she 20 or 70 except for her and her SO. So the care statement is really is only for the suburb living virgins in here.

But in terms of a bunch of dudes judging women on the Internet, yea I think more people are concerned with looking at women in their 20's not 40's.

Love it when men try to tell women what to do with their bodies.
What a ridiculous overstatement. Do you love it when black men trying to help their race tell young men to pull their F-ing pants up.
In the case of that women, theirs an overwhelming chance she'll regreat tating her entire leg, (which looks nothing but awful at any age)

The white race is doomed.

When I went to college the only advice my dad gave me was don't go out with a girl that has more tattoos than you do. Today it would eliminate half the female population.

Oh and the other advice was, "I can fix any problem you get into except two . . . dead or pregnant."

First of all, these are two very different things. Second, whether she regrets it or not, it's her choice.

Now I will add that as a father of two young women, their mother and I definitely gave our opinions, just as we would have to sons. And our opinion was also that tattoos are a poor choice. We would have said the same to sons. One of them got one anyway. Haha.

Mine did to, lol.
A little smiley face sun in the small of her back by her by her bikini line.
It looks good now!

You seem very fixated on the behavior of black men. Fascinating.

Well I think every member older than 60 has chimed in. Tattoos are everywhere and the majority of people have them nowadays.

It has more to do with social class and background, than it does with age. If you visited some of the top private universities in USA, you would see very few tattoos for people at any age.

That's why you're an A Hole!
FYI...If you want to call the 100s of young minorities we work with, mentor and send to camp a fixation, have at it

There is no way in hell anywhere near a majority have tattoos. Not even close. You don't have to be over 60 to realize this is a fad that unlike fads in the past you can't just grow out of.

20 years from now there's going to be a lot of people thinking "why did I do this?"

No they don't, it depends on the social class of people you hang around with. Where are the tats on the beaches of Bay Head? Drive a few miles to Belmar and see for yourself the difference.

This is true. Much less tats, boob jobs, piercings etc. in the old money class. Much less tolerance to these things in the older generation also.

Doesn't mean they're right though. Doesn't mean someones trashy because they're tattooed.

Remember when guys getting a earring was the cool, edgy thing to do?

First, I am over 60, so you can stop reading if you like.

I think tattoos look poor on both men and women. I respect a tattoo that is a sign of military service, but it ends there for me.

As for the attractive young woman who gets a butterfly, she should remember it will look like a praying mantis in 20 years. And yes, in 20 years, that woman is very likely to still want sex. Sex does not belong just to the young.

Name that movie: "there are three rules I live by. Don't get less than 7 hours of sleep a night. Never play cards with a guy who has the first name of a city, and never date a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. If you stick by that, everything else is cream cheese"

I'm mixed on tats personally. If I didn't need to be employed the rest of my natural life I'd probably get one of those tribal bands around my bicep Bc my arms look awesome (for niw). On women, tattoo bands around the thigh are sexy as hell.

But what's most interesting about tattoos isn't what they specifically "say" artistically, but what they say about you as a risk taker, a gambler, a fun lover and a badass. When you see a girl with a tat you know she's a good time. When you see a guy with a tat you probably can assume he's not gonna be a pushover. So tattoos are really revealing of a wider lifestyle choice than they are about the specific message in the ink. Having said all that, I don't have one and probably wont.

teen wolf...and it was 12 hours

All tattoos, on guys or girls, look pretty trashy. I have never seen a "classy" tattoo.

I don't have any tats, and I doubt I ever will, but I was wondering - how much does it cost? and how long does it take ? I was thinking about getting an earring in one ear - that seems OK

I find nothing attractive about women with tattoos. My daughter knows my feelings about tattoos. She has an infrared tattoo on her wrist that is visible when scanned with a black light. I can live with that.
Kind of a trend right now . I see so many women with tats that don't make them look good at all . In a few years it will be a joke . Don't get it .

Well now any young lady that happens to read here knows what not to do if she wants to score a middle-aged+ dude that's too cash-strapped with private school, nannies and status cars to be a sugar daddy. Your move ladies.

Some men put metal crescents and rods through their penises and nipples...some people cover themselves in tattoos...Sometimes it looks cool...most times it looks right down awful...it's your body...butcher it as you will!!

Every Tom, Dick and Harry (and quite a few Jane's) are tatted up. What's so cool about tats when everyone seems to have them? A boatload of buyers remorse on the horizon. Soon no tats will be the in thing.

I disagree. The main problem is that ugly tattoos are ugly.

Well executed high contrast tattoos look awesome. And they look even more awesome on a girl.

The right tattoo on the right girl can be totally hot. On the boardwalk or at yoga class or wherever, my eyes often linger on the girl with tattoos.
This. A nice piece of artwork on a beautiful woman is really sexy. I'm not talking about a dolphin on her shoulder or a tramp stamp. I mean a artistic piece on her ribs, back, or nether region. The rest of her has to be put together, and not be trashy, as you mention, the tattoo is a contrast. Something sexy about a woman having a little bit of an edge.

Yes, you do need to be over 60 (or at least over 45) to realize this is a fad. Tattoo's have be part of pop-culture (as opposed to counter-culture) for about 10 years now. So people under 35 (who were in their 20's when the fad took off) don't look at tattoos as a temporary fashion statement. They see it as something permanent, a new societal change. But those who are older, and have been through fading fads before, know that within the next decade, tattoos won't be so groovy anymore.

According to a Fox News poll (2014) and Pew Research Poll (2010), about 20-23% of adults have tattoos. But it is certainly a generational thing, with 38% of those under 30 having tattoos, and less than 15% of those over 45 having one. But as the tattoo generation gets older, their kids will start shunning tattoos. In 10 years, when today's 8 year olds are 18, they won't see tattoos as glamorous. They'll see them as misshapen body art that their parents have.

I have a large tattoo on my arm (think half-sleeve). It took 13 hours at $150 an hour by an awesome artist.

whatever, bad tattoos (most of them) look like sheet.

Great tattoos look awesome (few can afford those).

So if you can't afford a masterpiece, then you should think twice,

as far as women with tats go, if you don't like them then just date someone else. Plenty of women to go around, no a big deal.

I think a tattoo done tastefully looks fine and rather hot. For me, that means relatively discreet, not shouting out "hey, look at this tat". A small ankle chain or bracelet tat - cool. Something meaningful on the bicep, not bad. When I see one that basically covers an arm or leg, I think it was too much of a good thing, even if the artwork is great. A lot of the time, the color fades and runs and becomes rather dark & nondescript so that I can't tell what the original intent was.

Just as an aside, there was a discussion on another site about a certain striker on an Italian team that happened to wed the ex-wife of his friend & ex-teammate. Bad enough, right? He then gets a tat of his wife and her kids. Just a bad idea all around. Soccer WAGs are rather notorious in their infidelity/longevity. Figured she did it once already.

Live and let live, but I hate tats on men or women - never saw one I liked. Asked my son (who's now almost 21) to at least not get one when he's drunk, which he might regret and while he said he had thought about getting one a few times as a teenager, he says he has no interest now. Whew.

By the way, don't underestimate the health/infection risk from these folks, who are piercing your skin and don't exactly have the best medical training, typically. At least be very careful in selecting who does the work...
