Lol Alex Smith was on track to be the biggest bust in NFL history. Before Jim showed up and taught him basically to be a one read and dump off QB, Alex was a turnover machine who got benched in favor of 3rd string quality backups who all outplayed him by miles. Guy was straight trash. Kaepernick was drafted by him with the plan to eventually replace Alex once ready. Niners were an absolute shit show before Jim righted the ship.

The promotion is official now. He’s been hired on a 5 year contract.

It will be interesting to see who he hires for DC assuming Minter leaves and to replace himself at OC as well.
