OT: Has anyone had platelet injection instead of surgery?

I'm a physical therapist. I've had a handful of patients try it (for their shoulders), but they eventually had surgery sometime down the road. One doctor limited what the one person could do after the injection, similar to the restrictions post surgery. I'm guessing I haven't seen many people try it because most insurances don't cover it, and the demographics of where I work probably wouldn't be willing to pay the out of pocket expense.

Don’t quote me but I believe my son did them a few times after his MCL year and when his Mom was given the option on her rotator cuff, he told her not to bother...
