Cubs are making moves to win it all.
Still not sure about their pitching, after Arrieta, Lester and Lackey.
Bullpen has big questions.

The Heyward signing may be one of the worst signings of all time.
For the past 2 years playing full (non injury) seasons - he has averaged 12 homers and 60 rbi's.....
Big deal.........
Furthermore, Lackey and Zobrist are old.....so could care less about them as well......
Agreed. I looked at his stats, they are meh. Seriously don't understand the contract here.$23mm per year for a guy that has never scored 100 runs, batted in 100 runs, hit 30 homers or hit .300. He just looks like a slightly above average player across the board.
I understand your point however Heyward is not an impact player and I don't think ever will be - thus it's a grossly overpaid contract - for which the Cubbies will regret. The reason he got this money is that he's only 26 and getting paid for his prime years. Most free agency deals pay players past their prime, so his best years are ahead of him. He's also excellent defensively and as a base runner.
Bill James once said, from his analysis, David Wright is the best baseball player in MLB. David Wright is the most overrated player in MLB history as far as I'm concerned and I'm a die hard Mets fan.Epstein is a Sabermetrics idiot - Heyward is a Sabermetrics wet dream.
What these guys dont realize is Billy Beane - had Zito, Mulder and Hudson - thats why he won.
+1Heyward is essentially Brett Gardner. I love Gardie but he isn't a $23 million player
+1
The Yanks are starting to be more responsible. I love that they let Cano walk. His past two years in Seattle have been only okay. That may turn out to be one of the worse contracts in the history of baseball.
There have been reports that Cano doesn't like Seattle and really missed NY. Too bad, you chose the money, which is fine, but you can't now start whining about it afterwards.I would not be surprised to see Cano back with the Yanks in the next year or two with Seattle covering $10M per year
Naah, Heyward is a great defensive outfielder too. But this contract is too much for what he has done to this point. I wonder where he will hit in that lineup.Heyward is essentially Brett Gardner. I love Gardie but he isn't a $23 million player
