OT: Kahlil Whitney transferring from Kentucky

I think it's gonna be us vs. Arizona State for Cliff.

Cliff sounded really high on Kentucky in a interview he did a week or 2 ago. Kentucky probably goes after Cliff harder now that whitney is leaving.. Also I think whitney is from Illinois. If he transfers there.. This league is crazy

Kentucky is struggling, I expect a coaching change conversation soon. Might be the right opportunity to get both.

Whitney is a Chicago kid, not really a jersey guy. So not really a big chance we get him

Lotta voices in these kids ears telling them how great they are

Whitney is an elite athlete and scorer, but part of going to Kentucky is waiting for your turn OR get recruited over.

It may if Calipari cares about keeping the Jersey High school pipeline fresh. What better way than to bring in arguably the best player in the state. I kno he has the camden player too

Cliff is a center. Kahlil is a small forward. This has no bearing on Cliff's recruitment.

Really hoping he doesn’t go to Illinois. They’ve already got two guys we were in on in Curbelo and Hawkins to go along with a Top 40 kid out of Chicago

These of the kind of players that would not have given us a second look prior to this year - but could give us a big look this year

grew up in Chicago. Not a jersey guy
Totally forgot that honestly, but still I am just saying coming from NJ HS', UK lately hasn't had the most success with Jersey HS players in the recent years. Richards stayed and developed, Briscoe was a flop there, Whitney (flop). Ware I would expect to be a flop he doesn't seem like a UK kid. Just speculation on my end

Are you kidding? Calipari could stay at UK for life if he wanted to. Whitney was getting like 3 mins a game so baring injury this doesn't really hurt the team.

Clarence Tillman transferred from Kentucky to Rutgers. He was a high school all american from Philadelphia.

I strongly doubt he would come to SHU. No need to have to deal with his Dad's legacy. Billy Garrett, the guy who recruited Kelly whitney for SHU/Louis Orr is an asst at Depaul. Who knows. Some knowledgeable SHU posters have long thought he was overrated.

Calipari doesn’t need to keep pipelines open. He’s near the top of the list of almost any top recruit he wants.

Yep Calipari doesn't need a pipeline to anywhere.. But doesn't mean he doesn't care to have one. Doubt its by accident - that his rosters always has players who played ball in NJ

If he decides to enroll in college I'd expect Georgetown, Illinois and DePaul to be at the top of his list.
