OT: Kansas - Kansas State brawl

Big 12 should be ashamed. De Sousa is lucky he's not under arrest for assault. A travesty De Sousa will be eligible just in time for the Big 12 tourney. If Self had any - wait for it - Self-respect, he'd toss De Sousa from the team, but he won't because he's afraid he'll blow the whistle on the pay for play shenanigans that went on to get him to Kansas. Dirty, dirty business.

Wow- just seeing this now. I fully expect the Jayhawk Co-Ed Fencing team to really get hammered with penalties once the NCAA and Big 12 weigh in.

If the University of Kansas had any self-respect, they'd fire Bill Self. If Louisville can fire Pitino, then Kansas can fire Self. Of course, the fact that Self is still coaching at Kansas shows they have no self-respect.

Think the unwritten rules say that if the basketball game is not in doubt, the winning team just dribbles out the clock and the visitors cease efforts to stop them. So a Kansas State player broke the rule, and Sosa reacted by blocking his shot. Fine, but he doesn't have to stand over him and taunt him. In college football, they have cracked down on taunting, calling unsportsmanlike penalties--15 yards plus you get a yellow card. Two of those and you are gone and miss half the next game. They really should cut down on the taunting; the posturing; the pointing in basketball by awarding technical fouls and maybe ejecting repeat offenders. Can hear the objections now, just some 19-year-old kid expressing his exultation; no malice involved. But we know taunting when we see it.
