Yes pedes! Harper and strasburgh came out and did their thing and mets still won ! Nats get Fernandez on Saturday in Miami. Must beat down the Braves and be able to rest whoever you want in the last week of season
Just did same thing ! You can hear Keith cheer right before ball clears fence [banana][banana]:cool2::cool2:I watched the game on ESPN but now it's time to go to Mets.com to hear the call of that bomb from Cespedes by Gary Cohen.
Do we have a shot to catch Dodgers for home field?
He's trying to figure out a way to rub Andy Pettite's and Roger Clemons' souped up Icy Hot on Texiera's bum leg...
His call of Kelly Johnson's HR was greatI watched the game on ESPN but now it's time to go to Mets.com to hear the call of that bomb from Cespedes by Gary Cohen.
The thing about those games is that with the exception of that last series with the Pirates where we got swept at home, almost all of the others were pre-Cespedes and the rest of the additions. Not nearly the same Mets team now, as we certainly know and are relishing in.For those who wonder how the Mets will fare vs the Dodgers, Cards, Pirates, or Cubs in the postseason, here are the season series results:
vs Dodgers: Mets 4 wins, Dodgers 3 - all games played in July. Mets were 2-2 in games started by Kershaw and Greinke, although neither of them got tagged with a loss.
vs Cardinals: Mets 3, Cardinals 4 - four games in St Louis in May, three in NY in July
vs Cubs: lost all seven. Ugh. Let's be done with that, okay? Four in May, three in late June/early July
vs Pirates: lost all six. Three in May, three in August.
The good news is we can only face one of the Cubs/Pirates/Cards.
Mets could have won all 3 of those Pirates games too. Two extra innings losses and a Bobby Parnell meltdown when it was 1-1 in the 7th. He's unlikely to ever pitch again in a meaningful game. The thing about those games is that with the exception of that last series with the Pirates where we got swept at home, almost all of the others were pre-Cespedes and the rest of the additions. Two words. Orel Hershiser. Nobody was beating him that postseason. What year was it that the Mets owned the Dodgers during the regular season, and blew it to them in the playoffs. The Mike Sosa HR in that playoff killed them. You can put the regular season results to bed once the playoffs start. The way the Mets are playing right now, they CAN beat anyone.
