Did anyone else know about what was going on at Sun Life Stadium? A place that is always a contender for hosting the Super Bowl, other big games, the Orange Bowl obviously. Big changes. They took away seats in the corners, but made the sidelines re-graded so that the seats are closer to the field, since the stadium was originally built to also hold baseball (Marlins). Along with a big color change, and more importantly - they're putting on a roof! Kind of. Will be all done by next season!

Labor is very cheap anywhere not named nj or ny. I'm tired of reading about facility upgrades That cost 20 million. NJ sucks.....so be it

A roof over Metlife would cost an extra billion.
New Minn Vikings stadium is a permanent roof. The state would not pay fora retractable. Stadium will look awesome it appears- unlike MetLife. Is that all you get for a billion?

We would have one too if not for those lame Giants owners and the dweebs in Trenton.
Blame the NFL. Mara probably would've relented, even at the absurd price, if the NFL would've allowed the Giants to control when the roof is open or closed.

Very true. Wait until you see the Falcons Stadium next year that cost less than MetLife. Blows it out the water.

Smart move.
Have the fans now sitting in the shade during those warm South Florida afternoons.
Should help with attendance.

Ready next year? It takes 2 years to construct 10 feet of Florida highway. 3 years if they put in sidewalks and drainage.

Looks very nice. I never understand removing seats. Unless it's to build structural elements of the roof, it doesn't make sense to me.

There is no room behind the end zones. Very unsafe. Reminds me of when caroo busted his head at SMU.

The roof will not only protect against the sun but the rather frequent rain...at least early in the season. But to the poster above who noted the distance from Coral Gables to the stadium that is definitely a factor. When I was at Miami they still played in the old OB and even then when you could actually take the Metrorail to the medical school stop which was a quick walk to the stadium and/or drive a few miles attendance wasn't spectacular with the exception of the FSU game. I think the 20+ miles up the interstate has definitely hurt even more...though there a a number of diehard student fans that still make the trip (my good friends son included) given the lower enrollment at Miami it's still going to be a small subset of the student population.
