OT: Moving an NFL team to London.

Very few live in those cities. They all live in LA or Miami.

Yeah they have houses in more than one place, but I have heard of resistance going to places like Buffalo before so however much time is needed there is already considered too much. A city like London I don't think poses that problem, it's more of a distance issue.

If there is resistance, it ain't much. Green Bay for instance is much more highly viewed on the free agent market than say, San Diego. It's about money and winning. They spend a few months a year total in the places they play in, unless they choose to live there.

People resist Buffalo because they blow. The fact it's a crappy city is second to that.

Yeah that has more to do with the success of the franchise and management. Some of it is still location when you consider that a large market team, even if bad, gives a lot more exposure than being a bad team in bad market. Moving Jacksonville to London will appeal to some despite the team being cruddy, but the distance is what would put a hold on it for many. Adjusting to game in Seattle would not be pretty.

It wouldn't, but it's happening. The NFL is going to Europe. They have been focused on this for a long time now.

As long as they put the team in the AFC West, I don't see a problem with this. Nothing wrong with 10.5 hours flights.

remember when you said Brandon Coleman was better than Calvin Johnson?
Get it right..... the argument was Kenny Britt had the potential to be better than Calvin Johnson. I also predicted that Calvin Johnson would have an early retirement due to his injuries. My statements exact was that he was "stiff" that would never have the ability to run routs, so he has no longevity beyond his athletic explosiveness in The NFL.

Back to London:
The NFL wants to make Global money and London is the perfect launching pad....
Soccer will be mainstream American.....
and so will college football.

If this happens, the there needs to be one Premier League team in the USA then and one that never gets relegated too. I do like the 9AM Sunday morning games that are in London. NFL all day. Can't beat that.

Sucks to be the LA Rams next year, who play the Giants in London. What a long flight they will have.

I think it will happen eventually. I also think there's a much greater interest in OUR football in Germany than in the UK.

Screw that! Give The MLS 2 spots in The Euro Champions League!

it is still very stupid. Once the novelty wears out, that stadium will be mostly empty. See NFL Europe.
I can agree with this statement. While there is a significant difference in the player's ability between NFLE and the NFL, the NFL is sending different teams to London every year which is helping to boost attendance. Move the Jacksonville Jaguars to London and see how well they draw after 5 seasons and a 19-61 record. The novelty would wear off, the local team sucks, and we're talking about moving the team back to the States.

The NFL would be foolish to have ONE team in Europe. By the end of NFLE, five of the six teams were in Germany (Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Rhein). It would make sense to me that you expand with multiple teams to help reduce travel costs and Frankfurt was the best supported NFLE teams while Rhein averaged about 20K per game throughout their existence. London, two in Germany, and find a location for a fourth team and you might have a chance to succeed.

Also, with a salary cap I don't know how you can ever deal with the exchange rate differences. $1 is currently .688 Pounds. $1US is currently 1.29 Canadian dollars.
You pick a currency to base the cap on like the NHL does. The KHL was paying NHL-like salaries until the price of oil collapsed in late 2014, which killed the value of the Ruble. The NFL salary would have to be set in US dollars.

As long as the NFL has a team playing in a country that has nationwide legal sports betting (the UK) or allows a team to relocate to Vegas, it can no longer be against or try to stop legal sports betting in the US.

Hopefully, the NFL will wait till after the Brexit referendum before deciding. If the "leave" people win, London will become much less global than it is right now + will no longer be the EU's financial capital.

That's fine... its major stepping stone. Theyll be fine and other countries will by in just as they've bought into our hip-hop. The American brand is an easy sell if they know they're getting you best.

The Big 12 asked if Oxford or Cambridge wanted to be considered in the next round of conference expansion. Their reply was, "With Texas calling the shots? Not bloody likely!"

I was hoping the B1G would put in a bid for Toronto to join the conference.
