Short notice is bull crap. How do you replace a power 5 home and home. It’s not like cancelling Norfolk state and replacing with another small game.

Smart move by them. They're adding paycheck home games which will probably earn them between $7-15 million per game.

As a fan and ticket holder I hate the paycheck games, but I can have some sympathy with the AD's budget that needs the home games instead of home and home series.

That all comes down to having a 9 game league schedule. If we played 8 games like the SEC, we could easily set up a couple of home and home series going forward.

With 18 teams in the conference, the 9 games in conference play is a must. just something we have to live with in the new reality.

Far cry from the 7 game conference schedule of the Big East.
