OT: NJ Devils 2024-2025 Thread

His injury had nothing to do with being “tiny”.

I. Agree though - very fragile. He can’t stay up either. Always falling.
Eh I think it had some to do with being tiny. Guys fall awkwardly into the boards all the time and get up. Jack any time he takes any form of hard contact seems to get hurt alot more than most. You guys laugh when i say it but ive been in bars with him and hes super super thin. Looks like a high school kid size wise

He has shoulder issues. People of all sizes have shoulder issues. He doesn’t have shoulder issues cause he’s small.

And no one is doubting you that he’s small. But you keep saying that’s a hindrance, especially in the playoffs - when it hasn’t been. His shoulder issue is the hinderence. And the fact he falls a lot while skating lol

Not all points are the same. You should watch his playoff games/points there.

If im starting a franchise jack hughes aint the guy im building around. Need more size and bite.

So some points mean more than others? Who cares how a player gets points..

I’d agree with you about building a franchise around him - not the guy to build around, sure. That seems like a different argument, discussion though

Wouldn’t be shocked if Jack is done for season. Didn’t look good at all, and already lots of speculation. Ugh. Oh well -

We all know that’s his MO . He’s been MIA on the rags thread and that teams an absolute dumpster fire this season. He only comes here bc he’s a jerkoff

I'm not sure if Fitzgerald is with us or not, but if he is, I still think he has to add by the deadline on Friday. Despite how lousy they've been for 2 months and that they're now down their best player, they're still 8 pts up on a playoff spot with 20 games left. We see other GMs get creative all the time. If Hughes and Siegenthaler are done for the year, put them on LTIR and use the cap space. Just like Vegas. Just like Tampa and on and on. They have 3 second rounders next year - all of which we'll bungle or will take 5 years to develop anyway. I'm not saying they have to mortgage the future to make a futile run at the playoffs, but they cannot just let themselves sink at 8 pts up right now.

We've been banging our heads against the wall with the same basic 12-13 forwards for the last 2+ months. I'm not saying he's THE answer, but how does a guy like Halonen (41 goals in his last 80 AHL games) not get an extended try in NJ? We have to see more of Nate Bastian? Just to update the totals:

Haula - 0 points since 11/25, full no movement clause (nice work Fitz)
Bastian - 1 goal since October 22
Lazar - 1 goal since October 25
Dowling - 0 goals since November 30
Palat - full no trade clause (nice work Fitz)

Try SOMETHING.
