Was at the bruins game last night. Marchand pulled the same stunt. Got a bit of an elbow up high....could have been called but wasn't. So he lay down on the ice for a full 5 seconds until it was clear no one was going to bail him out and then got up and was suddenly all better.
The refs were total crap for the Carolina game. 28- year old in his first game as a Referee (formerly a linesman). His inexperience showed as he let the game get out of hand. This crew allowed it to become a European soccer match with all the histrionics by the Canes. League needs to curtail that bullsh!t. Otherwise the code of conduct by the players will reign and it will become anarchy.
With those refs there is a stat going around, the last 2 years Carolina is 12-1-0 in games they officiate. Why was embellishment for one not called. Thankfully they stole the game so they didn't suspend Timo.
Now as if the Timo stuff wasn't bad enough, how is Haula allowed to get mugged from behind like that without a penalty on Orlov? It's ridiculous! If the situation was reversed Haula probably gets a Rempe suspension or longer.
Now remember the Flyer Chris Pronger contract was the same as what the Devils did with Kovalchuk, only the Devils got penalized, the last year of the cap penalty is this season.
The league is wildly inconsistent, officiating is poor. If the game is now too fast for humans to officiate, maybe just maybe the NHL should let the game return to the 90's, a little more clutching, grabbing, and water skiing. Plus do away with the trapezoid, Marty is not coming back!

Soft power play merchants that rely on the greatness of the goaltending too often . When the PP doesn’t score or the goaltending is off it’s a disaster. Doesn’t help that your GM forced Goodrow and Trouba off the team even though they had no trade clause protection . Then put your longest tenured player Kreider on the trade block publicly.
I wouldn’t mind if someone from Trenton said the same for our guys.
Need a 3rd line center and push haula to 4th line . He’s been brutal so far . Jake Evan’s from Montreal or Yanni Gourde on Seattle please . Would love Brock Nelson but think he’s gonna cost a lot more.

I’m an Optimum customer and I am pissed as hell over MSG being pulled.
I don’t expect a settlement ( see Comcast ) and presuming none occurs - I will be switching to FIOS

Brutal! Where did heavier, edgier, more violent go? This team has stopped blocking shots, and reverted back to watching Jack and Jasper skate around trying to make the highlight reel.

Tragic. Unfortunately this was one case where having a rivalry didn't help. The Rangers have been phoning it in since October but of course decide to turn it up for one game.
Yup, as good as he is, he gets careless & coughs the puck up as he did last night. Cost the Devs the game and cost Markstrom, who played a great game, the win.
He plays a lot of minutes, gets targeted by the other team non stop, and then is expected to be still 100% and win the game in OT. To be fair, it's not as easy as it looks.
Not sure what has happened but this team isn’t good right now.
Most teams go thru a stretch like this (including the rangers who people gave up on way too early - I think they’ll be fine)..but devils are bad right now.

Thought it was a good, tough game. The Rangers announcers agreed that it was the best defensive game that the Rangers had played all year.
Exactly the problem. Last thing we need is the Rangers finally deciding to play a good defensive effort....not against us, and not against anyone else.
