OT: NYE fun OT …….worst movie you’ve ever seen !!

I grew up a Star Wars kid and was the perfect age when the original came out. I kept watching through all the years and this one finally killed off any interest in the franchise for me. What utter trash that movie was and critics loved it. I finally learned, if the critics love it and the audience doesn't, it's probably a really bad movie.

That was the Rian Johnson one, wasn't it. Yeah, that one was pretty rough.

2001: Space Odyssey

I'm sure the effects were cool on acid in the theater 50 years ago.
On TV last year it took me 3 viewings (kept falling asleep) and still don't know what the plot was.

That was going to be my selection.

Disagree, seeing as the movie was quite different from his real life. In true Hollywood fashion the movie had a ton of dramatic embellishments, most notably the scene where the team handed in their uniforms. Not to mention, the real Ruettiger pitched his own story to get the film made, and he was also later charged with securities fraud.

But the movie was good…😜

After Rian Johnson killed all the logical story arcs for the 3rd trilogy, the 9th Episode did the best it could to tie up all the loose ends from all three trilogies.

yeah 7 was mediocre but at least introduced something to get you interested in a similar style to the Lucas films... 8 was an absolute destruction of the material that had been developed both in film and tv shows for almost 4 decades at that point and on top of it was insanely stupid plotwise as well as in terms of direction of the characters. The whole film was dog shit.

more the other way around. 8 was a complete insult to anyone who ever watched Star Wars, and 9 was an awful film due to Abrams trying to fix all of the stupidity of 8 caused by Johnson, so there was no possible way to be somewhat passable. Really wish they'd just have George Lucas come in and do the entire sequel triology, create a brand new 7 with similar concepts but done with more historical connection, and just pretend 8 and 9 never existed and brand them as non-canonical side BS.
