OT: NYE fun OT …….worst movie you’ve ever seen !!

Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Seriously GIF by Leroy Patterson

2001 Space Odyssey still haunts me to this day as horrific movies I have seen.
My Dad thought it was a good idea to bring us 4 boys between the ages of 5-10 to that movie as our monthly trip to the theater- I often remember just how bad it was. Along with any Woody Allen movie ever made.

A just watched “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire”

I mean that’s up there. Special effects were cool but the story line…. Couldn’t tell you what it was about. Brutal
I started watching that but soon realized it comes in in the middle of a story.... like if you started watching matrix 2 or 3 and wondered.. wtf is going on. I thought to search for the preceding stories but wasn't motivated enough to actually watch them.

There's never been more crap being produced than now but the list in this thread is pretty solid.

I'd like to offer a whole category... using old RottenTomatoes scores (which are now all BS so it doesn't matter).. any film with a high critics score and a low audience score was total crap... while the opposite was always something watchable.. even if not actually good.

Love Story. Girlfriend now wife cried. I cried too since it was the first time admission price hit $3. Menlo Park 1970 something.

Anyone putting Rudy on the list is doing so only because of a hatred of ND

Or, maybe they just hate schmaltz?

Turning a walk-on human tackling dummy into some sort of hero, simply because he is allowed to play some garbage time minutes? INSPIRING!!

You should’ve waited a couple of years. It would’ve run for a $1.50 at Movie City 5 a year or two later around the corner on Gil Lane. 😎

There are four or five movies listed here that I actually liked, including Ishtar, Howard the Duck, Joe vs the Volcano, Bye Bye Birdie, and A River Runs Through It. Have to say that I'm a huge fan of Lea Thompson, Meg Ryan, and Anne Margaret, so that may have affected my preferences. And I met the guy who wrote the book, A River Runs Through It. It is absolutely beautifully written.

Worst ever? For me, The Power of the Dog and La La Land would be right up there.

The Nude Bomb ( Get Smart movie) My friend and I hopped the fence at the Edison Drive in to see this ... actually walked out before the end

Bye Bye Birdie Skillet?
I remember watching it with my mom in the mid 60s and enjoying it.

I remembered it fondly until i tried to relive the past a few years ago…I had to turn off all that out of tune singing 😊

It came out in '63. I was 13 years old and it was Anne Margret. What can I tell you? It was indeed a hilariously bad movie. Maybe I'm confusing her dance scenes in it with this one from Carson. Hope you and yours are doing well. We had a great holiday season down here.

Star Wars 8 - The Last Jedi
I grew up a Star Wars kid and was the perfect age when the original came out. I kept watching through all the years and this one finally killed off any interest in the franchise for me. What utter trash that movie was and critics loved it. I finally learned, if the critics love it and the audience doesn't, it's probably a really bad movie.

I guess that's around the time when women were burning their bras in the 60's. 😁

Disagree, seeing as the movie was quite different from his real life. In true Hollywood fashion the movie had a ton of dramatic embellishments, most notably the scene where the team handed in their uniforms. Not to mention, the real Ruettiger pitched his own story to get the film made, and he was also later charged with securities fraud.
