The Padres have never had a no-hitter in their 53 year history. The game is at Texas.

How time flies.I was at the Padres' first game at Shea Stadium in 1969.Union's Al Santorini beat the Mets,3-2.

He did it.

When the Padres started, there were no designated hitters,Kent State hadn't yet happened, nor had Watergate.Abortion was illegal. The military draft was still in force and Exxon was called Esso.Just to name a very few things.

To make it,Musgrove is from El Cajon, next door to San Diego.

California in 1967 enacted the Therapeutic Abortion Act, which repealed the state's ban on abortion. It allowed abortion upon application of a pregnant woman to a board of doctors. The governor who signed it into law was one Ronald Wilson Reagan, then in his first year in office. The previous governor, Pat Brown, a Democrat and a Catholic, had been implacably opposed to allowing abortion at all. As Casey Stengel would have said, you can look it up. For those who have forgotten, the Padres' first season was 1969. BTW, in 1967, about 200 Americans were dying each week in a place called Vietnam, and the U.S. had about half a million soldiers there.

Same year I went to a Sunday DH where the Mets swept the Padres both games by scores of 3-2. Jerry Koosman and Don Cardwell got the wins.

When I got to Long Beach after graduating from Rutgers in 1968 the state was being run by a right leaning former actor who seemed to support the war in Viet Nam while cracking down on the SDS and pacifist demonstrations.

Prior to the late 60's a soft shoe / dance man was the senator George Murphy.

Fast forward almost 50 years and the nation elected a self promoting construction tycoon who was famous for telling running and ruining casinos, universities and steaks but probably most famous for telling people "they're fired".

Good to see something positive happen after the Tatis injury. Rough way to start a contract that will last the rest of your career.

I think that Tatis will eventually be moved to the OF to protect the shoulder. The Padres best position player prospect, C.J. Abrams is a SS who's a stud and only 20 years old.

In addition, the Padres played their first game about 10 weeks after the Jets won the Super Bowl.

I'm glad they've done such a good job with their scouting and drafting. Whenever something good/bad happens to the Padres I always think of you since you're the only fan of them I know!

Now the Padres have two.

Fun Fact: The Mets also have two no-hitters in club history: Johan Santana on June 1, 2012, and a combined no-hit effort from Tylor Megill, Drew Smith, Joely Rodriguez, Seth Lugo and Edwin Diaz on April 29, 2022

Isn't that a funny fact?

Two awesome plays by Xander Boegarts to preserve it. It’s funny how no hitters always tend to have a standout defensive play.
