Interesting, so what has the actual investigation revealed? Anyone have any details on that? I knew the pilot was a woman or a black person or a Mexican or something as soon as the company line was to blame dei. And it was said that you have to be a genius and highly intellectual etc to fly. Has to speak to his political base, perception of First 100 days in office are what's important here. I don't like these emotional responses because you never end up actually solving the problem.

If black students are focused on sports and not academics that's their inclination. I went to grad school for International relations and psychohistory, Subversive tactics is one of the things I studied a lot. I was GA for Marxist prof and some of my best friends are neo-Marxist Academics today. I know their theories/strategies/tactics pretty well. My HS was 1/3 black (double national % of black population at the time). My BF was black and half my friends were black ( I taught for awhile in the same school), None of my friends were criminals or arrested. The white guys from catholic schools sold the most dugs. They often had grandparents from the South living with them who were very conservative (hated rap as it arose) and used to vote GOP (as many blacks did - NAACP was started by Republicans).

Jim Brown spoke often about how he loved his white HS on Long Island. My HS was the same as his and he was a lot like the kids in my school. Nobody would see Jim Brown running around town with his pants down. All bad stuff came after The Great Society con where single young mothers were paid for babies. That's where the family dissolved and crime escalated drastically. People like Sen Moynihan warned about it.

Enablers excused all personal flaws and shifted responsibility to "racism" everywhere. That's how Dems in the South blurred the edges. They made their crimes and oppressions everyone else's and used black people as new voter base consolidated by gov control and humiliation disguised as "caring.".

I think the key in your statement is I believe there will be no question the truth will come out and I don't believe that was the case the last 4 years on a variety of issues. Be as it may, to prevent future accidents it needs to come out. Start with no more training missions around active public airports as I had no idea that was even a thing.

it all comes down to the qualifications of people in key positions. If a cross section of applicants all have the exact same measurable level of competency, and the govt wants to push forward certain segments within that group for diversity purposes, then the public is not in any danger. If, however, there’s even the slightest level of difference, and less qualified individuals are being pushed ahead of those who are more proficient, then that’s egregious. This applies of course to life and safety positions (surgeons, pilots, ATC, etc)

The problem here is how quantifiable the definition of qualified is. In most cases qualification is a combination of factors, some quantifiable and some not(think about hiring/promotion decisions, there is no purely analytical process for hiring someone). Now the military tends be be more transparent than most, but even there, we will never know specifically why this person was chosen aviation branch over someone else. And therefore some folks will continue to push the DEI factor simply because she wasn't a white male and no one will be able to "prove" that she was better qualified than someone else not chosen.

I can understand some of the concerns about "lowering" or different standards for women in military specialties where upper body strength is a core job requirement. As a tanker, I had concerns whether women could handle being a loader on my tank - where the requirements include rapidly moving 50lb shells inside the confines of the turret or using the extraction straps built into the back of my nomex "flightsuit" aka CVC to allow someone to lift me out of the turret through a top hatch if I was injured and couldn't climb out myself. But if a woman was able to meet those functional physical standards, then I have no problem with her being selected for Armor.

Pilots are not one of those specialties where upper body strength is a core job requirement. Key standards I expect would include spatial awareness, eye/hand coordination, planning skills, communication, etc, etc. None of which have a gender based bias which might require "lowering" standards for women.
