OT: Rank The Five Boroughs According To Your Own Criteria

In short, yes.

Foremost because you live in Hudson County.

Secondarily because you're originally from Mercer County, which everyone knows is in Pennsylvania.

Now, now let's not go there...bad enough I actually lived in that God-forsaken state as an infant, while our house was being built, which I'll never forgive my parents about!

Now might be a good time to have that conversation about "There are certain things you just shouldn't tell people".
I'm kinda surprised (and disappointed) it wasn't in her hair, but that's probably just me.

no, that tiara is, sadly, long gone. I have a new one now!
Let me guess--you may have worn it a time or two this past season, but there is NO WAY you'd be crazy enough to wear it to the Big House. Just, NO WAY.

OTOH, I would love to see footage of you and the Mr. walking down the streets of the five boroughs with you wearing that diamond-encrusted beauty.

LOL. As do we with the too cool Hudson County crowd who does not know how to even dress for a simple place like the Parker House.

Wow, finally agree with this guy on something. Bravo.
Marlboro and any town west of 35 (in Monmouth County) is NOT the Shore. Especially one with Rte. 9 going thru it. I'll give you some of Wall. You visited like everybody else, summer house or not.

Maybe you're confusing me but I definitely wear boat shoes and a polo to the Parker House lol. You'd even mistake me for someone who went to an Eastern Monmouth private school. :sunglasses:

Also Route 9 runs through Toms River, Forked River et al. Definitely the shore. And then, is Ramtown not the Shore, but say, Wanamassa is?

God help me.

God help me.

Also Route 9 is loaded with Bennies 12 months of the year- the Staten Island shoppers, pumpkin pickers, Xmas light lookers. There is no escape, where as I don't think those people go to say, Wall in January.

Yes you were.

Marlboro, regardless of your route or how long (or short) it took you...not so much. Sorry, thanks for playing. LOL

* And while you're at it, tell your fellow Mustang, @NotInRHouse to say the same thing. :)

I missed this earlier, and cannot speak for Ski, but you can call me a lot of things...do not call me a Mustang lol. Definitely the worst insult hurled at me on this board...You can call me from Hudson County or LI or NYC or other places I lived but that one hurts lol,.

I don't get the pumpkin pickers.

See, here's the thing, all you pumpkin picking people...

When you go to, say, Wemrock Orchards and sit in a 45 minute traffic jam on a 2 lane farm road so that you can park in the mud and walk half a mile to the "pumpkin patch", what you're overlooking is this one little fact.

THEY DON'T GROW PUMPKINS THERE!

The pumpkins are brought in on a truck. Late at night the truck, loaded with pumpkins and Mexicans, drives through the field. Said Mexicans toss said pumpkins from the truck.

These are the exact same pumpkins you can buy at Trader Joe's or Gristedes or wherever the f*ck else it is they sell produce in Staten Island.

Please. Stay. There.

Bard Farms?

Apparently I'm a Bennie but you called it Parker House like they do. It's just Parker.

Not sure how many years you have been going there but there has been a change in the attire of the guests. Maybe it's me just getting older, but there is definitely a different vibe and a different type of kid going there now from when I first made a visit.

And if you recall what I wrote...I only mentioned the 9 and 35 parts of Monmouth...I'll give you part of the Shark River section of Wall. But the Ocean County people/towns can call themselves whatever they want. Like sara and UCan't, don't care. LOL

I thought you went to Marlboro or was it Manalapan? Are you a Brave?

I'll have to buy a beer at Parker this Summer then. I'm sure you won't stick out!
The way the crowd looks now, I probably will. And if you need a parking spot, let me know. It's a long driveway.

Parker? I must share that with my friends and family. Have to say that's a new one.

Kenny Parker is paying dividends already.

"I'll take Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Iiiiiiisle..." Nah. Manhattan and Brooklyn are my favs. Lots to do/see and eat. The other boroughs not as much, relatively speaking. Always plan for some "city time" when venturing up for a FB game in the fall.
Know and like the song. Good lyrics are soooo hard to find today.

For me my ranking changes based on two different criteria. If you asked for rankings based on where you wanted to live versus just as a visitor the top 4 rankings are totally different but in both cases Queens is dead last. It just doesn't have much to offer when compared to the other 4.
To live I would make Staten Island my top choice. Specifically the New Dorp area. Beautiful homes...with driveways! I lived in Philly for 15 years. In Society Hill and by the Art Museum, two of best neighborhoods in Philly but having to drive around and search for a parking spot every single night gets old fast. Having lived the city life for awhile, I will never return to that style of living.
As a visitor Brooklyn is easily #1 to me now. Manhattan 2nd, followed by the Bronx than SI.
Brooklyn has so many great things going for it these days. As a visitor to any place, at some point you're going to eat and want a drink or two. Brooklyn has totally embraced the craft beer scene. You can find craft beer bars in the other boros but it's still hit or miss
Manhattan is a clear 2nd as a visitor for me. Partly because after 40 years of going into NYC there are so many place that have a been there, done that feel for me. For someone that hasn't been to NYC much Manhattan has to top the list.
The Bronx has two of my favorite places. Yankee Stadium and Arthur Ave, the real Little Italy.

Haha let's just say I want no association with that area.

The DJais crowd is decidedly less guido the past several years, maybe they migrated.

1. Manhattan: World class everything. Can be aggravating, touristy, and expensive at times, but stacks up with almost any city in the world.

2. Brooklyn: Lived there for a few years, great food, good energy. I know...hipsters...but they know how to make good food/beer/etc.

3. Bronx: Not a Yankee fan, but to me, Yankee Stadium + Arthur Ave + Botanical Gardens > Citi Field + LaGuardia

4. Queens: Not Staten Island.

5. Staten Island: Is Staten Island.

1. Manhattan- Do I really need to give you a reason?
2. Queens- I am a Mets fan. Korean/Chinese food.
3. Brooklyn- Peter Luger's steak, Pizza
4. Staten Island
5. Bronx- Rotated there as a medical student. Was a knife and gun club.
