OT: RIP Ricky Henderson

Former Hudson Reporter sportswriter late Jim Hague wrote a super column about Rickey maybe ten years ago. The paper went bust last year and unfortunately I couldn't find the article to post here.

Jim was Rickey's driver when both were teenagers. Rickey played for the Jersey City A's and Jim was the team's scorekeeper and public address announcer.

Rickey lived at Duncan and Delaware on the city's west side.
Jim was a friend of mine. He was also a former colleague and softball teammate. He was one of a kind. I miss him.

I found these links.

Best leadoff hitter in history? Discuss.

Jersey As? Pretty sure I went to a few games as a young kid and I assumed I heard the name as Jersey Jays... oh.. that was football.

Jersey Jays were a football team in the Atlantic Coast Football League. Some of the others were the Jersey Tigers who played at Williams Field in Elizabeth, Bridgeport Jets and Pottstown Firebirds.
