OT: RU Lax opens B1G play tomorrow at 2:00 on ESPNU

We've played two common opponents this year, UVA and Princeton. RU lost to UVA 14-5 and Princeton 12-11. Hopkins lost to UVA 12-11 and Princeton 16-15 in OT. So, we're both 0-2 against common opponents. I would say Hopkins' schedule has been stronger, and all of their losses have been close, so it's going to be tough. But this really doesn't look like a great year for them so what the heck, I think we can knock them off.

Hopkins, as always, has a lot of talent. Watched the Uva game and Uva got very lucky. Hopkins was up 2 with a minute and a half left, and the ball. It was a great game.

They have had a rough start to the season, likely due to the death of one of the players. That is hard to overcome in a short period.

Even so, they give up goals. If we can shoot well, win faceoffs, we have a punchers chance. We are going to have to play very well in the defensive midfield. Their attack is very solid, but mostly looks to feed their midfield who have big shooters all over. Sprinkle in their very dynamic freshman in #55, and they are a handful.

Outside of shooting well and winning faceoffs, we are going to have to have great goaltending. Alleyne has the talent, but hasn't played well, though he has been trending up the last few games.

New season starts tomorrow.

Our poor shooting % reflects the lack of quality looks we're getting. A lot of low percentage shots taken today. Big time goal by the long pole however from just inside the box.

A lfew finishes and just a few less unforced turnovers and we win that one. Tough loss, but the team is trending up.
