So JoePa is innocent. Maybe rally around the kids, saying please don't forgot them and use psu as an example of what not to do. There's so much here. They should have ended the program.

Message to Penn Staters

The second someone ask me where I went to college I instantly anticipate what the next question will be.
We've been made fun of, insulted, frowned upon.
I'm sick of it, there's nothing wrong with the pride and dignity we hold in our hearts
for our school. I felt guilty to be proud of who I am and what I represent as a PSU'er.
Even in knowing I/ we had nothing to do with what happened.
It's odd to me that I'm still trying to find peace within all of the chaos that one mans actions led to.
We do not and should not have to justify ourselves for an isolated wrong doing within our community, if that were the case I think everyone everywhere all schools, all people would have to do it.
So it needs to STOP!!
There has been so many discussions
about clearing Joe's name and that's
perfectly fine by me. In the grand
picture of all of this it should be clear that we all are accused of being guilty of what happened and it's NOT OK. I don't recall being at Beaver Stadium with 100 thousand plus and us eating hot dogs and popcorn watching these horrible happenings on a Saturday morning or afternoon.
So today I'm writing this to burry once and
for all the feelings I've been wrestling with
for many years now.
Let's all agree that to some degree justice has been served for the few that were responsible. As for Joe, he was never guilty of anything by the letter of the law PERIOD.
WE Are not a cult football community that
blindly defends our school.
Heck truth be told the football program isn't even the most successful one on campus. We Are great across the board.
WE Are students of higher learning, WE Are
professionals in the work force that drive world and American economy. WE Are fathers, mothers, daughters and sons.
WE Are people that just happen to have a Ton of pride about who WE Are... PENN STATE!!
It falls on us to continue to restore and revive what PSU means. No matter how many "stories" accuse or condemn, ultimately We Are the ones that possess the true power to tell our story!
So today I challenge us all to come together
and burry all of the guilt, embarrassment, shame, anxiety, anger, pain, regret and all the other feelings that this scandal created.
It was and continues to be the actions of many that put the "We" in We Are Penn State.
The truth is the stories surrounding clearing Joe's name has been a saga that seems to challenge the validation and vindication of us all. The reality is every last one of our accomplishments in life and what We have represented for so long is not only Joe's vindication but ALL of ours. We should not have to go on trial when we say what school we went to.
I'm proud to be a Penn Stater "dammit" and I'm proud that You are... We Are Penn state together!
I'm proud every time I see that Nittany Lion logo!
I'm proud of every time I hear We Are!! Penn State!!
The media or everyday interaction with people will never remove the love I have for my school or my alums.
That's it WE ARE PENN STATE and only those who lived it can understand it and that's all that matters to me!
One can only apologize so many times... The apologies and regrets have been issued in true sincerity, TIME TO MOVE ON!!

A Penn Stater defending Joe Pa!! Wow, groundbreaking!!

Unless something newsworthy comes out, im not talking about the Cult.

When I meet a PSU alum, I do that head tilt.

When I meet a current student, I forget their name the moment the conversation ends. Its not as though I'd offer them a job.

The school should have been bulldozed. Baylor is right behind them.

Case 11 LaVar Arrington vs his feelings
CASE CLOSED
VERDICT: Innocent

So basically, a former PSU letterman, one of the best linebackers to ever play the game in college/NFL, recruited by Joe Paterno, played for Joe Paterno, KNEW Joe Paterno, should not want him vindicated?? A man that Arrington felt affected his life positively? A school that he loves and has had a positive experience at?

You're pathetic for claiming to be a facebook friend of Arrington's and then reposting his post (which is public now anyway) to get clicks and start yet another endless negative discussion about PSU. That says more about you than anything Lavar would post about a person he cared about. But, alas, it does appear to always be the highlight of your board so carry on...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! You got jokes! Thanks for the laugh.

Is there a toxic waste dump under that school? If it were me I'd demand that that SOB JoePa's name be wiped from every building and every document. PSU is a fine school, I have no idea why they bend over backwards to defend that criminal. It is real simple, here's how you turn the page. Wipe the bastards memory from the school.

The Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association claims Paterno knew about Sandusky and is refusing to pay claims that Penn St has sent to them.
I think that's what I'll go by and Joe "The Enabler" Paterno should be looked upon as someone that didn't protect children like he protected his football team.

JoePa had a lot of things to be proud of when it come's to Penn State football program. However, like many successful people, the brand he built became more important than anything else including these kids. When he found out what happened in that shower, if he picked up the phone and called the police he would be a hero today. Instead he protected his brand and friend and it destroyed everything.

Penn State people should just admit that Joe made an awful mistake that otherwise blemished a great career, and I think everyone could move on. But this stubbornness to clear him just keeps people from moving forward.

Actually Joe Paterno's knowledge, or lack thereof, is immaterial to the insurance case, because he wasn't an "executive officer," i.e. the university president or a trustee.

The infestation has begun!

Here come the Ped Staters in droves to start telling us why we're wrong about the facts, why the players shouldn't be punished, and why they shouldn't have to apologize for supporting a completely morally bankrupt criminal organization of a football team. And they're going to look down their noses at us while they do it, because they won a lot in the 90s.

Why can't the PSU fan base learn to just accept this and shut up about it? Just like Joe did.

Well, I'm sure that would be your solution because you did not attend the school (neither did I for that matter) and you were not affected in the least by Paterno, but there are people who were and people who cared about him and people who feel he's been wronged. I have no issues with folks who stand by their convictions and are out to prove it. Why is that a problem for folks? I'd rather someone like that, than a wimp who goes with the flow because they're afraid of what people think. Those fighting for Paterno's reputation obviously feel strongly about it and are willing to put themselves out there to do it. You don't have to agree with it, but it isn't a wrong thing for them to do. Many people have been proven innocent after years of someone fighting for them--and that isn't even the case here because he was never accused of a crime in the first place. This is a fight for his reputation by people who knew and respected him. I don't fit into that category but that doesn't mean I don't understand why the people that do want to.

It is obvious that, as RU fans, being objective when it comes to anything PSU not in your makeup. In athletic competition it's all good, but when you carry that over to jobs, etc like MozRU something is seriously wrong with you as a person, and you need to step back and take a breather because your fandom should not be that serious. And MozRU, I did interview an RU grad last year and didn't hire her, but not for the reasons you wouldn't hire a PSU grad. Her resume wasn't as impressive as the person hired from Wagner, and it had nothing to do with her being from RU. That's how professionals operate, you need to try it sometime.

Have a good evening!

Good luck with life little fella!

Clearly it's time to burry everything, if we can do that it probably won't smell so bad

Or at least not as bad as having criminals on your football team in 2015. Yeah, I went there. But I'm done having fun with you folks--it's been a while.

You just told us that we don't have to agree with it, but you're coming to this board (pretty damn quickly anytime a PSU thread appears, by the way) to condemn people for opinions that are, quite frankly, shared pretty much universally outside of State College, PA.

Cute--so you listen to Olberman? He's a dolt--by the way, where is he these days anyway?
I was looking for one of those "The awkwardness of displaying your PSU degree" post-Sandusky pics. But the Penn State cult are still blind which is my point.

I know a colleague of mine, who is a PSU grad, who when heard of the terrible things that went on at PSU was physically sick to her stomach. I feel for the the grads who would never made excuses for the terrible things that went on at the campus. As long as this goes on the more people, potential employers etc, might look cockeyed at them. I know it is unfair but that is life. Joe should be thrown under the bus and never heard about again for the sake of the alumni and the reputation of the school. I love sports and want to win badly but not at that cost.

Um, I am outside of State College sweet pea. Never lived in PA a day in my life. Oh, and I didn't really notice when the OP posted and when I responded, but thanks for timing me. It's all good.

Here's your problem--you are confusing being disgusted about what occurred with Sandusky in 2001 and being supportive of the university population as a whole (which was the point of Lavar's facebook message). Most adults know the difference, only people like you don't. I don't know of many PSU students/grads who aren't disgusted by what occurred.

You don't have to worry about the PSU alumni, they can hold their own and have held their own. The reputation of the school is still quite good and they are still highly rated. Perhaps taking a hit is what RU fans hope to happen but it is not based in reality. PSU grads have not had problems getting jobs--they are not ranked one of the top schools for job recruiters for nothing (and this was at the height of the scandal). They're doing just fine.

I said "pretty much" shared universally outside State College. Nuance is important. OK sweet pea?

You can pretend you don't hang around here often or notice when certain threads are posted, but your persona here is pretty evident. Actually, it's predictable.

That's all honey bear.
