OT: Sewercuse and Minny In the pinstripe bowl

I would love to see us play again even in Pinstripe..Couple more weeks of practice ...If you hate the seats, parking, concessions just stay home and enjoy a RU Football game on your big screen or at your local gin mill...If we play well and Win it would be a boost...If we lose it will also probably help unless its a blow out
100 percent.

Calling this the worst bowl is a stretch. At least it's two P5 teams. And given that we don't usually make it, it's just another bowl game on TV.

I'd imagine people from other parts of the country enjoy NYC during the holidays. I was hoping we'd be in last year when I was in NJ for Christmas. I'd have gone ...and not complained for a decade about it.

It has NOT "under drawn" fans. That's a fallacy made up here by you and a few others. It typically outdraws an entire handful of games and, some years, even more. You're just soooo obsessed with HATING this game I think you really don't pay much attention to a bunch of games played prior to this one.

You’re right! The vast majority of fans posting on this thread don’t like and actually hate this Bowl …but your lonely opinion has to be the only correct one. LMAO
And Fact: every Bowl game played after the Pinstripe Bowl draws significantly more actual attendance than the Pimpstripe Bowl: This includes: Outdoors Texas Bowl, San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl, Camping World Bowl, Music City Bowl , Belk Bowl, Tony the Tiger Bowl, Autozone Liberty Bowl, Arizona Bowl, Valero Alamo Bowl, Taxslayer Gator Bowl, etc. And this excludes the New Years 6 Bowls.
Don’t let the facts get in the way of your delusional love for this laughable Bowl.

In fact the Pinstripe Bowl has one of the worst attended Bowl Games with two P5 teams playing against one another.

I think I've paid like $20 all three times I've gone. Traffic no issue. Great City vibe. Not the best seating but who cares? Football used to be played in baseball stadiums all the time.
Better options? Yeah sure. Worst? Ha. Only for somehow spoiled Rutgers fans.
Do you live in nyc? It’s a nightmare to get to the bronx during the holidays from jersey. I was just at the botanical gardens in the bronx. Beautiful place, miserable drive.

Glad you enjoyed the gardens. Want to go but not going to deal with NYC for THAT. Right now my wife has is at Longwood Gardens outside of Philadelphia.
Honestly. The 3 times I went to Pinstripe I had zero issue.
Trust me. Not s fan of going to any of these cities anymore.

Well the New Era Pinstripe Bowl is a TV success.

Of the 40 or more Bowls listed the Pinstripe Bowl comes in at #14 from a Nielsen TV ranking with 3.78 million viewers.

The Rutgers fans on this Board always want to say that the New York Metro Media Market is #1.

Normal Pinstripe attendance is around 39,000 fans. Some fans may not want to go but more people will watch.

Syracuse playing Minnesota will be an interesting match up.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

The same people glorifying the NYC trips for official visits are now slamming the NYC experience. lol

It’s not a bowl city. It’s just not. NYC doesn’t care. The Bronx isn’t Manhattan.

They didn't play OSU, Mich, or PSU.
Doesn’t matter,we wanted the Big 10 we got the Big 10. Can’t complain about our schedule, it’s time we show that we can be competitive in the Big 10 or get off the pot. More to you point don’t think we played OSU, Mich and State Penn based on our performance.

Can't reasonably compare the two when they didn't play each other and played 10 completely different teams. The two common opponents were similar results.

Not comparing, they are in the ACC, we are in the Big 10. They have an OC and we don’t. They made a bowl game and we didn’t. No comparison.

Atrocious venue for a bowl game. Bad weather, terrible sight lines, and NY congestion/pricing. And I hate Syracuse as much as any team out there. Their fans and alums are universally all d-bags (proven fact). But as bad as all that is, Rutgers has no room to disparage any teams for being in a crappy bowl after we had yet another non-relevant season. No one from Rutgers should be throwing stones here. It comes off as sad and insecure.

They also we're raving about how close it was and how cool it was going to be to watch us play Iowa State in the pinstripe bowl at Yankee stadiuma few years back.

Now that we suck so does the pinstripe bowl.... Ironic isn't it.

Syracuse would have taken us to the woodshed this year.... And Rutgers fans are disparaging Syracuse and the pinstripe bowl that they were raving about when we were participants a few years back.... classic.

IMO, it’s not the game itself, it’s the additional practice time these players get that’s beneficial. And yes that bowl stinks
I’m guessing the NCAA doesn’t enforce that rule. The rule doesn’t make any sense. Is it possible to vacate losses?

Last year, RU went to a bowl (an infinitely better bowl, btw) had extra practice, and that led to this year’s losing season.

Last year Sewer stayed home after a losing 5-7 season (which we were happy to contribute to) and this year they are bowling.

So the idea that going to a bowl game and getting extra practice helps you for the next year is a complete fallacy.

But, as someone else pointed out, New York City in December must feel like the tropics for them, coming from the frozen snowy tundra of upstate New York.

We would’ve beaten Syracuse this year just like we beat them last year on their own field!

Correct unfortunately. We would have no chance vs Cuse this season.
They can have the Pimpstripe Bowl. Despite what delusional comments Nuts makes about it this Bowl is still the worst of any P5 matchup Bowl by far ….

Why keep bumping this miserable thread?

Yes, I realize I just did, but only while it was already at the top.

Let it drown.

You can easily stroll passed it. I certainly do with threads I dont care for.

This is the problem. We shouldnt have to look at SU as a big win. I thought those days were over.
It’s not a big win, it’s a win that should shut them up a bit
As I said, it kills them that we won, and at their place to boot
Trust me that it bugs them more than any other loss

No dook. But it still shows up on the main page.

And how many times do people need to repeat:

1. Wahhhh Syracuse is better than us.

2. The Pinstripe Bowl is terrible.

3. I sure wish we had a bowl to go to this year.

It's run its course. Or we could become like Siberacuse itself and just have a running thread dedicated to it.
