OT: Sewercuse and Minny In the pinstripe bowl

No dook. But it still shows up on the main page.

And how many times do people need to repeat:

1. Wahhhh Syracuse is better than us.

2. The Pinstripe Bowl is terrible.

3. I sure wish we had a bowl to go to this year.

It's run its course. Or we could become like Siberacuse itself and just have a running thread dedicated to it.
You just did what they are doing. Best thing to do is not read or comment. It keeps the thread going.

PS Bowl is a horrible bowl, venue sucks- not only for fans but players and so many other things.
With that said, I would have taken it as it would mean we had a much better season.

Myself- I have to say, I am so glad my son played 05-09…to start each year knowing I was going to be booking last minute flights to somewhere in Dec or Jan was a blast. Pretty much the highlight of the year for the whole family.
I would hate to be a player family now.

And, I would have hated if the PS bowl was around then. The 3-5 day trip to a random city with all the events was always just as much fun as the game.

Worst Bowl for any of the the Power 5 Teams.
Novelty has worn off for any fanbase. One and done with the crappy seats , winter weather, neighborhood, outrageous prices, parking, field conditions, South Bronx, etc.

for fan experience- it really sucks. I am sure it is much more fun for teams that travel to it. If I were living in somewhere like Iowa State- travel to a bowl in NYC would be a blast over the holiday. That is, if you could actually get a room at a reasonable price, in the city where there would be team events.
But living so close- the whole "Bowl experience" of a fan is non-existent. I would have hated it as a parent and only just stay home and go to the game. That is usually the most boring part of the week.

2 games today in “destination” spots(Bahamas/Orlando), and good-to-great weather, played in front of a TOTAL of maybe 5000 fans combined.

‘Nuff said.

You said it wouldn’t last two years. Then you said it wouldn’t last three years. You have been wrong time and time and time and time again. Just admit it You don’t have to like it, that’s your opinion, but just admit that you’ve been wrong all along.

Do you live in nyc? It’s a nightmare to get to the bronx during the holidays from jersey. I was just at the botanical gardens in the bronx. Beautiful place, miserable drive.
for a guy who drives to NJ all the time from either the Village or Long Island I can tell you it's never been worst after covid and that's on any day of the year. One Friday night RU game it literally took me almost 4 hours to get to the stadium.

These are amongst the lowest level FBS teams with very limited fanbases. Heck Miami- Ohio averaged 11,000 fans in home attendance last season. Put 2 P5 Teams in that Orlando Cure Bowl and see what the attendance would be.
Yes there are too many Bowl games ..these 2 should be gone as should be the fan/players undesirable Pinstripe Bowl.

Ps- Nuts check out the post by YesSir. Tells you all you need to know the ‘experience’ of the Pinstripe Bowl. I have been to every RU Bowl game since Phoenix (great party by the way) and this was the worst Bowl experience by far.. twice now

I’ve never said it was anything about the “experience.” The weather can suck, the sight lines are awful there’s very little “tailgating” in the true sense. It is what it is. That being said for many fans it’s very easy to get to, a relatively cheap bowl experience being that you don’t have to fly and stay at a hotel, and I’ve thrown to absolutely phenomenal parties prior to both of our games there. So, again, “it is what it is.”

I can't believe some of the negative posts concerning a bowl game that is the ultimate goal of a Greg Schiano coached Rutgers program. A return to the Pinstripe Bowl would likely result in an automatic contract extension for GS and probably begin the process of enshrining his legacy with a bronze statue as you enter the stadium.

Yes any Bowl under Schiano would be the ultimate dream of any RU Fan at this point. However getting there is highly questionable based on the current shaky state of the program/Schiano’s performance.
When do eventually we get back to Bowl participation this will be the one Bowl that RU fans and players will want to avoid more than any other Bowl venue. Sorry South Bronx.

Seriously? We were discussing a bowl game Rutgers earns on the field, not backs into due to a pandemic.
but did put itself in play because of on field action in the second year of the Greg2 era
That's a far cry from the type of program Schiano took over
