the dust from over salting has become an environmental disaster
With this crowd. Nah never.Did some of the ones complaining now comlain when in 2017 Gov. Chris Christie announced state offices will be closed Thursday as a winter storm is set to roll across New Jersey.
The governor ordered "due to the impending severe winter storm, the state of New Jersey has authorized the closing of state offices" for all non-essential employees.
In 2015 Christie also took preventive measures before an approaching storm hit NJ.
Here's a tweet from 2018

Declaring state of emergency in Cape May, Atlantic, Ocean & Monmouth Counties. All state offices will now be closed. Please stay off the roads and stay sheltered and warm.
Could it be the complaints are more because of politics , than the GOV. trying to avoid trouble because of expected weather.
Look good in what way, policies or actual looks? ORRRR both?I didn't think anyone could make Chris Christie look good, then this clown was elected.

Nobody but the usual whiners.
That whole 90 minutes huh? That'll break the bank. Oh wait they didnt get any more than they would have gotten anyway.Nobody but the usual whiners.
Or, you know, tax payers who are are threatened at the point of a gun to pay the salaries of the folks taking the afternoon off and getting paid for it.

what do you expect from a group that considers fact check an enemy of all they hold dear.[roll][roll]So ... The usual whiners.
Only here could this be a multi-page thread. And not a single person chiming in about needing a government office that was closed.

+1Murphy once again comes out looking like a fool and an idiot
Our controversially elected Governor down here declared a state of emergency for today. Yesterday morning. Shutting down everything. The mindset of the CE club would be to call it proactive, risk-free thinking on his part because of what famously happened in the Atlanta area around 6 years ago. Of course they would deny that. But their history tells the story. By the way with the exception of a brief, light rain this morning, there was no precipitation of any kind. The sun was shining brightly by midday.what do you expect from a group that considers fact check an enemy of all they hold dear.[roll][roll]So ... The usual whiners.

yes because we should close offices because its raining
Not sure how many people get this since his house is at the end of Blossom Cove Rd.He wants to make sure the highways are not clogged with traffic when he saunters over to Restaurant Nicholas for his evening meal.
Lots to criticize PM about, I don’t think this is one given what happened back in mid- Nov. my ankles are still sore from walking in dress shoes in the snow from Edison TS to the Shoprite in Pway where I got picked up. What a fiasco that night was
That last word was meant to be "goof" not "good." Darn autocorrect. Don't see most of it as bitching, just goofing.I know. That was the closest thing to someone actually being affected, and it was but a close call.
Not sure what that last sentence means, but much of the thread is a bitch-fest.
And during the November storm, he dined at Restaurant Nicholas while people were trapped on the roads. Not sure how many people get this since his house is at the end of Blossom Cove Rd.

Hey, don't snowflakes melt in the rain?yes because we should close offices because its raining
Exactly. The stupid R primary voters nominated Kim G, who was essentially Buono 2.0. Why nominate the LG of an extremely unpopular Gov, right? They messed up and dropped the ball. 2021 should be very different.Who ran against Murphy? Can’t remember.

Christie is a fascinating case study of politics! He had a historically good first term and then a historically bad second term. Literally the two polar opposites.Right. Kim. Lol.
Buono was a sacrificial lamb because no one was beating Christie after his first term. His 2nd term didn’t go as well.

I was pretty close to the situation for a few years and I saw the following. And this is just my opinion. During the first term, he had an open door, worked with a lot of folks very well (except union), and even before Sandy, was doing a very good job. Obviously, his handling of Sandy juiced his numbers and he also made a deal with Norcross/Sweeney/Joe D to only put up token opposition in 2013 (i.e., Buono) in exchange for not going all out to flip the legislature to the Rs (which never would have happened anyway). His sights were set on the WH.The best brief analysis of Christie's reelection margin and later downfall basically went: "Christie would likely have been reelected, but the margin turned into a blowout when Sandy hit and he didn't react as the Republican Governor of New Jersey he reacted as the Governor of New Jersey. And then he saw the White House."
+1And having done the GWB commute many times what I found was the disingenuous claims of people at risk of dying in ambulances etc. was never looked at closely. Nobody ever stated the truth, that once you are on the bridge a traffic jam has nothing to do with Ft. Lee. Some tractor trailer probably jackknifed on the Cross Bronx. And as far as ambulances, on any road in Ft. Lee heading towards the GWB it's possible for an emergency vehicle to turn around and end up at the ER at Englewood Hospital in less than 10 minutes or a full blown trauma center at Hackensack in less that 25. The press was out to get Christie and hyperbole was the order of the day.
If its no biggie (and free) why not extend the workday an extra 90 minutes? That whole 90 minutes huh? That'll break the bank. Oh wait they didnt get any more than they would have gotten anyway.
