You can bet when he was negotiating with that vegdog company he know Nathan's would drop him and even the !.2 million they offered him wouldn't match the payday he vegdog was offering , along with what he could get from places like Primanti's.

Without Joey Nathans contest will have lost it's main attraction, but with him winning the contest and becoming a veg-dog spokesman , Nathan might just be helping veg-dogs gain in popularity if they let Joey compete .
Either way, Joey is building his retirement fund
As he should. He has a regular good paying job as a construction engineer in real life.
Nathan's would be smart to serve that vegan dog and make their own deal. The only Nathan's that's always packed is the original building. There is one on the boardwalk just up the street and never a line.
