OT: Top 25 ‘most beautiful’ college campuses in the country (Princeton Review)

Sadly, Livingston just missed the list. 😜

not that I expected it to be on the list but your joke seems a bit dated .

Sure Livingston used to be.a desolated Siberia-esque wasteland back in the day but Livingston is no longer an eyesore.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but it is my understanding that residency on the Livingston campus is sought after these days

Livingston is awesome. Huge swing and miss by OP.

desolated Siberia-esque wasteland
Still closer to this description than actually being nice (or coherently designed). Livingston remains a mishmash of styles, uses, layout, and architecture. Case study of what not to do with planning.

You’re an idiot if you think that . Especially if you root for our mens basketball team at any point in the last 50 years
Yeah, speaking of men's bball..please don't forget that the classic architectural masterpiece of beauty called The RAC is the centerpiece of that campus. The day they clean or paint or enhance that eyesore is the day the campus jumps from eh to very nice.

You must be slow ?
Wasn’t taking about the place that our student athletes and coaches actually play and spend a lot of time. But thanks for helping the point

Livingston campus is the boil on the butt of Rutgers University.

every one is entitled to their opinion but again, I’ve heard residency there is sought after. So it seems perhaps that the typical college-age kid disagrees. And that’s what matters

UCSD is nice and should be on the list but then so should UCSB which is arguably nicer. LMU was another school we toured with our daughter and wasn’t sure what to expect. It was surprisingly way nicer than any of us expected. Scipps was also nice but Pitzer and Pomona also were comparable.

Lehigh at #24 is just silly. It’s interesting in that it sits on a steep hill (small mountain really) looking down on the city. Unfortunately, the city is Bethlehem and part of the campus blends into the city itself. There are some very nice historic stone buildings, however, and being on a hill makes for an interesting setting.

I will say that Bethlehem has undergone some re-development in recent years with the conversion of some of the old steel plant buildings into entertainment venues and there is even a casino nearby as well. Compared to nearby Allentown, Bethlehem is a breath of fresh air. During Musikfest in the summer there are plenty of folks walking about from pub to music venue and back so there’s a nice vibe especially compared to the rest of the year.

All OP's jokes are dated ...and/or not funny to begin with.

Livingston looks good much better than it looked when I went to Rutgers. They have added so many buildings. It may be the best campus at Rutgers now.

Yeah, the quads are awesome places to live in. LOL!

I don't understand these rankings. It so happens my daughter went to Vanderbilt and my son went to Washington Univ in St Louis. Both of these schools were on the list of beautiful campuses. They are both very nice but I think they're ranked too high . I can think of a handful of schools with prettier campuses.

Lol my son lives just south in hellertown and I've been going to the area for years now. That has to be the most understated review of what's happened to the area I've ever read. It's a year round entertainment area and hosts the biggest outdoor music festival in the country over 10 days.

Unless your a freshman

I hate lists. Dopey. The only positive thing that comes out of these assorted lists is that they always expose the negative posters on this board.

Could there be a more subjective ranking? I have been to USD, it is a beautiful small Catholic university, very nice, lot of white buildings. I wouldn't consider it the most beautiful campus, but again that is totally subjective. I saw another poster mentioning Lehigh's campus, I have always liked the stone buildings on that campus and the fact that is was on the side of a hill. I also think Lafayette has a very nice campus.

I was sure to add that paragraph as an edit because I agree with you about all the creative things they’ve done with the old steel facilities. Late spring and summer definitely have a cool vibe.
The main problem I have with the area is that most of the houses in the area (the row houses) were built in 1900. Seems to me that some creative planning needs to happen regarding the housing situation…and the same can certainly be said about most other urban areas in PA which were built up around heavy industry over a century ago.

I got my MBA from Lehigh and there is no way it should be on this list. Loyola Marymount is over-rated and Pepperdine is on the list because of the unbelievable view of the ocean and the Malibu cliffs. I don’t think the actual campus is beautiful at all and in some ways it reminds me of a commuter school…but I guess the view is part of the campus.

This list is a joke. Princeton, one of the most beautiful campuses in America, isn’t even on their own list! I’ve been to over 30 college campuses, and there are some big misses on this list, including Stanford, as mentioned earlier.

When we took a tour they brought us to the Livingston dining hall. I was very impressed. The campus looks great.

The UCLA campus is not especially beautiful. It has nice hills behind it but the campus is very paved over.

Was just on Princeton’s campus this week as my son is starting a post doc there. Campus is awesome, and should be on the list.
As an aside, any pizza recommendations in Princeton, we had pizza from someplace on the outskirts and it was a disgrace to NJ pizza
