Disclaimer: I generally think these lists are mostly crap, but I have to admit I got a chuckle out of Metuchen being #20 and the home of our resident TIC (Troll-in-Chief) not even being on the list. Below are the top 25 places to live in NJ, all with an overall A+ rating, according to Niche. Enjoy.

Princeton Junction as #1? What a bizarre ranking. Any of the rest of the list would be better.

Has little value as people in different stages of life have different priorities. I mean what does Hoboken have in common with any other town on that list? But if you were a recently married 28 year old and both you and you spouse worked in Lower Manhattan it would be #1. This is very slanted towards families with school age kids with at least one parent working in NYC

Another crap list - by definition, since it has Montgomery #1, lol. Also almost no representation from SNJ or the Shore.

SNJ and the shore towns are not high on this list due to commutes and lack of high paying local jobs. Makes perfect sense, especially for families. We were #2 for two years and then finally became #1 based on several large open space purchases and park upgrades. Gotta earn if by making good decisions.

Again there is the question of criteria, but if Ridgewood doesn't make the list and Northvale, Harrington Park, Demarest and Closter do commuting and 9-12 schooling must not be included.

This is a comically bad list

These lists are bad for so many reasons . Especially for rutgers sports fans, who root for guys from other types of communities than that are represented here

Congrats Monty, impressive for lower Somerset County...probably still needs an asterisk though.😉

That's right NJ residents, no one move to Monmouth County it completely sucks here. Someone also please send the word to Staten Island, that we're full.
A little late for that, no? Monmouth county has got to be approaching somewhere between 33-50% Staten island/Brooklyn transplants at this point, right?

The #1 Princeton Junction doesn't even exist anymore. It was absorbed into Princeton years ago.

It's horrible here. Ticks, mosquitoes, groundhogs and deer eat your plants and garden, flooding, hurricane threats, windmills off the shore, traffic jams, and everything is closed September-April. Just an awful place to live.
