The Men's team beat Germany today 2-1. First win ever over them on German soil.

Going into the game Germany was ranked #1, US #27. Both teams were missing big stars but a great way to end a week where the US beat 2 of the top 6 national teams in their respective home countries.

Their U20 team is also in the Quarters of the World Cup after beating Columbia 1-0

I know this is sacrilegious to USMNT fans, but they look a lot more exciting and potent offensively without Altidore and a declining Dempsey clogging up the middle.

I agree about Dempsey. Yedlin, Wood and Morrison have looked promising in limited minutes.
What ever happened to Wondolowski?

Is a soccer match like the latest Game of Thrones episode? Do you really need spoiler tags for a sporting event?

I'm glad I watched the Belmont live on Saturday, so that wasn't spoiled for me. ;)

I assumed some soccer fans recorded it being it was played during the afternoon on a weekday, not a Saturday like the Belmont.

Just trying to be polite.

For sporting events played outside of the US in significantly different time zones, yes, spoiler tags are much appreciated. I will often tape international matches that start between 2-3 PM Eastern so I can watch them later that evening, and do everything in my power to avoid stumbling on the result.

To state the obvious, love the fact that we now appear to have guys who can finish decisively when the game is on the line. Same guy gets winning goal in back-to-back games against soccer powers. That is the hardest thing to find in the soccer world. I would love to have that guy out there in the last 30 minutes of any game. Hard to imagine it could be a fluke.
