two of my go tos (3 Wood and Clynelish 14). that specific Auchentoshan is my favorite of all other than the now defunct Bowmore 12 Enigma edition (they tried to replicate with Bowmore Blackrock, but something is missing... Enigma hit everything - smoke, salinity, sea, wood, fruit, long honeyed (sweet/acid/tang) sherry finish in perfect harmony). So last night I broke open the Auchentoshin 3 Wood I just received for my birthday.
Did pretty good for my birthday, got the following:
Sounds great Spank!!Johnny Walker Green last night while grilling marinated chicken cutlets and spicy corn, Sam Summer tonight while grilling steaks, more spicy corn and portobello mushrooms.
Did you bring up Edmund's Oast from Charleston yourself or you found it in Jersey? They're one of my faves to visit whenever I go to Charleston.Hmmm..let's see. Kane - Boxx. Edmund's Oast - Sour Fruit Punch, Magnify - It's All Relative, Beer Tree - Any Day Haze, Grimm - Wavetable, Equillibruim - Shortthrow, and another Grimm - Shortwave. Probably a one or two other mixed in there. Happy 4th RU friends!!
I find an occasional 4 pk at Liquor Outlet in Boonton (which is where I got it this time). I first found it in Raleigh while visiting my sister. They turn out some good stuff.Did you bring up Edmund's Oast from Charleston yourself or you found it in Jersey? They're one of my faves to visit whenever I go to Charleston.
Oh great! Another obituary post 🤣🤣I'd like everyone to join me in a moment of silence: I just finished off another bottle of Johnny Walker Green.

Oktoberfest beers are in. If you like the true Munich brewed Oktoberfest Bier than grab the Hofbrau or Paulaner now (not the Paulaner Oktoberfest, that is the marzen style, has to also say Bier. Yes Paulner makes both styles).

A few years ago they used the word Wiesn. Americans confused it with a wheat beer, a Hefe Weizen. The Wiesn is the venue/grounds where the Oktoberfest takes place in Munich. My bad: I was supposed to start a separate thread for that, right?
You recommended the Paulaner Oktoberfest to me a couple of years ago: we were not very impressed with it. I don't recall if it had Bier on the label or not.
Yes that is it! Although last year they dropped the word Wiesn. If you buy the 4 pack cans or the big can in the 1 liter glass stein, they only come in the current Munich style. This is the one you want. It's what they sell at the Oktoberfest events. It's very hard to find though!Oktoberfest (Wiesn) Bier | Paulaner Brauerei

Enjoy. I want to go but big crowds of people drinking allllllll day doesn't appeal to me. Especially multiple days in a row. Augustiner makes terrific brews! Will be at the Fischer Vroni tent. They serve Augustiner Brau. I used to go every year pre-pandemic.
Surprisingly, it’s a very laid back atmosphere. I think it’s hard to get really eff’ed up on beer alone. You see a lot of families out doing the rides, food and games.Enjoy. Friends in Philly, all Firemen have been going over 30 years. One of them was in the Army and stationed their for 6+ years. Of German descent, 3rd generation so he learned to speak fluently. A great asset to have when traveling. So if I ever go it will be with them.Surprisingly, it’s a very laid back atmosphere. I think it’s hard to get really eff’ed up on beer alone.
