OT: What are you all drinking tonight

Friends in Philly, all Firemen have been going over 30 years. One of them was in the Army and stationed their for 6+ years. Of German descent, 3rd generation so he learned to speak fluently. A great asset to have when traveling. So if I ever go it will be with them.
You’ll love it. I don’t speak Deutsche and have no issues there. You do have to plan ahead because it surprisingly difficult to walk into a tent and get a beer. The other thing that threw me off was having to pay to piss (not at Oktoberfest) but in other public places like the train station.

Funny as soon as I sent my last post my friend walked in to the bar and I showed him your post about the Fischer Vroni tent he said to ask you about the fish on a stick. He said it's awesome

It’s great. I do the duck sometimes because I need the grease to balance the beers.

Huh?? Oktoberfest beers are lagers. Light, crisp, refreshing and delicious. Oktoberfest is less than a month away. Beer was made for warmer climate.
Now if you say pumpkin beers. Yes it's way to early. Heavy stouts and porters are late fall winter brews.

Oktoberfest/marzen lagers can be imbibed at any time of the year. Pumpkin beers on the other hand, not until after Labor Day at a bare minimum, if at all.

Whitebus,

The Paulaner 4 packs of 1/2 liter cans have arrived in FL. I also bought a 4 pak of Tuchers Festbier. Just waiting on the Hofbrau Fest to arrive. The Fest biers are some of my favorites this time of year.

Everything Paulaner in Philly sold in a day from our wholesaler

Drinking some Yee Haw hazy IPA in Nashville at Old Smokey distillery. Saw a few Rutgers jerseys down here.

Monmouth County's own. I personally don't like the stuff but It's Jersey's oldest distillery. Going back to the late 1600s. Commercial sales started in 1780 as seen on the bottle.
I’ve met John Laird a few times in the Red Bank area. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth.😀

Going with some Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale today. Fall and Winter beers are the best IMO

Not a fan of pumpkin but get it. Oktoberfest are fantastic. True fall beers.
What winter beers do you like? Unlike the other 3 seasons winter doesn't have a style, all over the map. I just had a Weinhenstephaner Korbidian which is a dark dopplebock. Delicious which is my version of a true winter brew

I really like what the Hardywood Christmas offerings. Vault Brewing had a cold brew coffee stout I had last year that was very good. I'll keep a eye out for the Weinhenstephaner Korbidian.

You can get it year round but like stouts and porters nobody drinks them in the dog days of summer. Its absolutely delicious on a chilly day.

That’s the best one . Still haven’t found one better
Huh? In bottle maybe the worst. On tap very good but not the best. Brewed in different locations. Hofbrau, Paulaner sends what is actually consumed over in Munich since to late 70s. By far the best.

Red wine and a horror movie, a tradition unlike any other

Going to open a 2020 Pinot noir by Three Sticks, and we’ll be watching the 2021 version of Candyman

Going with a nice dram of GlenDronach Allardice 18 tonight. Christmas in a glass IMO. Family left time to relax. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Going with Hardywood Christmas Morning tonight. It's a imperial milk stout with ginger, cinnamon, honey, vanilla and coffee. This tastes just like their gingerbread stout with some coffee. One of the best stouts out there IMO. They have a bourbon version that is even better but I couldn't find this year.
