OT: Who makes the BEST Pizza You’ve ever had?

I went to Spanos in Pt. Pleasant Beach last night. They gave us a free appetizer of focaccia bread with tomato sauce and mozzarella on top. I wouldn't call it pizza, but it was damn good. They also gave us free eggplant meatballs. I was full before I even ordered. Somehow, I still powered my way through a plate of linguini and clam sauce.

Delorenzos and Papas both are tremendous. I live within a mile from both luckily. All the DeLorenzos are great IMO

DeLo's Robbinsville = #1
I go there for lunch from time to time when I have extra time for the drive.

I think it would be a little interesting for someone to forensically examine the posting history on the subject of best pizza here on the RU Rivals football forum. I would not be surprised to discover that most of us have posted the same pizza preferences over a dozen times each.

Some potentially interesting stats would be:

1. Who's posted their pizza preferences the most number of times over the years.
2. Who's been the most consistent with their expressed preferences.
3. Who's been the least consistent with their expressed preferences.
4. Who's injected sheep jokes into pizza threads the most.
5. Who's named the most different "best" pizza places.
6. How many of us posted our pizza preferences the most times in the same thread.

(I confess to slipping #4 in, no pun intended, just so I could win a category.)

Probably like 10 years+ now. In strip mall off 18 like everything else. Big RU supporters as well which is nice to see.
That timeline makes sense. Been in Monty for 20 years now (wow, where the hell does time go!).

Used to be THREE GUYS FROM ITALY in Jersey City’s Journal Square, even after the move to the Blvd. Unfortunately the new owners have turned their pizza into pure trash.

Jersey City’s Stadium Pizza is good.

Pizza Masters in Bayonne is DAMM GOOD.

I like Mainline Pizza in Little Falls for basic pizza.
Star Tavern for thin crust.
For Brick Oven specialty pie, I would say Vesta in Carlstadt.
Sicilian, Brunos in Clifton

Marucas on seaside boardwalk
Delos
Papas
Kate and Al’s in Columbus
Olive branch 50 cent slice for nostalgia

Le Crevier in Denville and Coniglio's in Morristown are big pizza newcomers.
Delorenzo's Tomato Pies in Robbinsville is a must stop...especially the White Claim Tomato Pie.

Sorry, Delorenzo's tomato pies in Robbinsville are better than Papa's.
Papas pies are substantial, tasty, and will fill you up. I’m a regular papas customer, whereas I do Delos once in a while as the y are not open for lunch on weekends.

Manco is good, but I prefer Preps (in OC).
For bonus points, get pepperoni + sweet peppers. An awesome combo with a Yin-Yang thing going on with all the contrasting and complimentary flavors.
Preps?!?! Not a fan at all

A new place just opened in OC on 9th and Asbury called Bakeria 1010. I just tried it last night and it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Haven’t tried the regular slices yet but the square ones are insanely good
