My attitude is that if you can't talk about a specific era of baseball without mentioning the positive contributions of a particular player ... then that player belongs in the Hall of Fame. Word spread quickly around the stadium and people were PISSED, on top of already hating him. People threw beer cans at the field in my section, it was wild.

I also personally hate Bud Selig (because he more than anyone has done the most to harm the sport of baseball) and they stuck him in the Hall of Fame because it's a buddy-system, not merit-based.

When I went to Cooperstown and visited the Hall of Fame, there was an employee on their staff who I knew from the staff of the Alexander LIbary at Rutgers. Nice surprise that he went from Rutgers to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
