Interesting subplot......Purdue alum and longtime assistant Brock Spack has led ISU into a national competitor in FCS......Spack was once considered for Purdue job, and had binders with a detailed plan for the program, but the athletic director Morgan Burke chose Danny Hope.......after Hope didn't work out (and Spack got the ISU job) people thought he might consider Spack again, but nope.

Burke just retired and Spack just beat Northwestern, which Purdue has barely done in 10 years.
