Overlooked College Football Program Lands Top 10 Transfer Portal Class Despite 7-6 Season

I jead this and was going to post but ol TT is just too quick.

Good job.
Boy, is that story dripping with condescension, from the headline to:

"But at the No. 7 spot, a mediocre Big Ten team jumps out after what was a forgettable 2024 season.

"Rutgers has the No. 30 high school recruiting class in 2025, ninth-best among Big Ten schools."

Figured the writer was from a Big Ten School, but nope, he's a Virginia Tech alum. Wonder if he is licking his wounds after his team got beat by an overlooked, mediocre football team that had a forgettable season?

If RU was in the ACC, which thankfully we are not, we would have the 5th ranked recruiting class just behind Clemson and 4 spots ahead of Va Tech. Would that make Va Tech sub mediocre?

Love the football recruiting results- both portal and high school. Portal results means 2025 season should be successful in spite of a more difficult schedule. We will be competitive in every game which was an interim goal many of our fans had. Looking forward to September.

The site he's referring to has had RU as high as #5 earlier in the process and hovering between there and #9 since.

It's interesting that Indiana is low on both of the rankings, transfers and high school recruiting. But we all know ratings matter to a degree, and some coaches get more out of lower rated recruits. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out on the field, where it matters.

Last year was a banner transfer year for Indiana with the coaching change. Unless it's replicated, doubtful, lower rankings this year would not be a surprise.

The BigTen has certainly elevated its profile since adding UMD and Rutgers and now has bumped it up again by adding the four western teams. SEC is still formidable but my how times are a changin’.
