Last year Pops had the distinction of being the first NFL player to make it to the Super Bowl in his first two seasons in the league. He’s now extended that to three. Can he make it three championships in his first three years?

Don’t get the hate especially with Pacheco on the team. Since the Giants are not sniffing the SB anytime soon I love watching the Chiefs. Love seeing great teams and athletes achieve great things

KC has been a likeable team since the 60s.
Thomas was the closest any other defender came to LT
Willie Lanier was a scholar and a gentleman - who hit like a truck.
I always liked KC teams - but their off-field tragedies were just freaky (including the parade shootings)

Sry happy for Pops but hate the Chiefs and Mahomes. They should have lost three games this year if it wasn't for the refs.

I'm no Eagle fan but i want them to rout the Chiefs and stop constant overexposure of the Chiefs Mahomes Kelce and TS.

I still think of Deron Cherry every time I watch them. He was our first big NFL star I can remember. Should be in the HOF per most thinkers out there. 50 Interceptions in 11 year career.

Being a RB in the Not For Long league may well be his future.

yeah I felt the same way watching him lately. Especially since they will need to pay him next year. That last first down was great and I hope he can do something a little special in the SB.

edit: as noted below his contract isn't up until 2025-26 season and so cheap for next year they will very likely hold onto him.

Hunt is 29 and on a one year deal. Reid has always gone with the hot hand. I think Pacheco is still RB1 next year in the last year on his contract

The Chiefs are a winning machine. Mahomes is the only player that's irreplaceable. Everyone else is an interchangable part. That's because they draft exceptionally well and are shrewd in free agency.

He has one more year on his rookie contract. It's so paltry (under a million) that they'll keep him, there's no risk for a contract that low. Then they'll kick him to the curb when it's time to negotiate the next contract.

I saw him run a play around edge and his leg just gave out and he fell.
But its probably too early to expect much comeback wise.
Saquon had bad injuries and he came back pretty well - he just didn't rush it

..but for Pacheco being injured and not used like he was in the past, think they will move on and avoid paying him more in future. That being said, I hope he winds up with the GIANTS and bring the prodigal son home to NJ. Can always hope, right?

It seems like the Chiefs gave him opportunities, but he hasn't been himself. It's definitely nice to see him make yards after contact and get that critical first down at the end. Hopefully, he'll be back to what he was next season.

He's not going anywhere next year. He will be on the team. He's under contract while Hunt is not for next season.

When Dawson wasn't doing car commercials, during the off season he did sports for one of the local stations.

What a raw deal for running backs. 4 years making almost no coin and then it’s a big ? They should have some special type of contract for that position since the shelf life is so short. Pachecos profile given he’s on the chiefs is so high. People at my work in the south and Texas know who he is. Yet he’s not set for life. He needs that second contract.

Not that it's life changing but in addition to his contract, he'll have made around around $1 million in playoff money should the Chiefs win #3. Not bad for a 7th Round pick.

I think we will see better contracts for RBs going forward. The running game is increasing and having a guy like Barkley is raising eyebrows with all the teams trying to improve!

Hated them back then cause they beat Joe Capp and my Vikings for their first of oh fer four SB record.

People start to hate consistent success. We have seen it with the Patriots, Yankees and now the Chiefs. The Cowboys back in the day, etc. The hate may be the greatest compliment that can be given.

Agree. All you hear from coaches and announcers these days is "complementary football." Well, what's a key element to playing complementary football successfully? Still need to invest in and develop good OLs though. They will continue to make money and may do even better along with the RBs.

With the exception of the Patriots, I enjoy seeing dynasties, seeing how far they can go. The first was the Green Bay Packers who lit up the 60 including the first two. Kansas City won't be the first team to win three NFL Titles as Green did that in the mid 60s.
Then came the Oakland A's, 3 in a row. The 90s had two great dynasties in the NFL, Cowboys and 49ers. Loved all those years!

Agree.
I've been lucky in choosing my teams when they weren't dynasties but becoming one. Yankees, I first started following them in '66. Later that year the Dallas Cowboys. And then finally the NJ Devils. My only team I bought season tickets for besides Rutgers. Year 1, I started with a 10 game plan but went full plan after attending just 2 games in their first year after leaving Colorado.
Lots of great sports seasons in my life time.
