I guarantee we finish with at least a 0.500 B1G record, if we can keep DH/AB healthy - not enough to go to the tourney without a big run in the B1G tourney, but way better than anyone was thinking when we were 1-4 in the B1G.
You mean the one who took a program that hadn't been to the NCAAs in 30 years to 3 straight tourneys (yes 2020 counts) and should've had a 4th tourney appearance 2 years ago, but we got hosed by the committee? Dude...we went to 2 tournaments and have 1 win to show for it. We are now trending downwards for the third year in a row with 2 lottery picks to boot and the season is going so bad you're basically declaring getting into the BTT (when 15 teams get in) as a victory. I like Pike a lot but snap out of it. He is in trouble right now.

Any sane person understands the previous 40 years were unacceptable by any standards and expects a little more going forward. Only Rutgers fans perpetually benchmark against the lowest of the lows and rationalize it as being just fine.

You don't think we were going in 2020? We were a lock. Just bad, bad luck a pandemic hit. And 90% or so of bracketologists had RU in 2 years ago. Sure last year wasn't great and this year we're underperforming, no doubt. But to call for Pike to be fired with the record he has is just ludicrous IMO.

Anyone looking at things rationally. Maybe it will hit you when we are the butt of jokes that Rutgers had two top 5 NBA lottery picks and didn't even make the tourney or the NIT. Again, I am rooting for him and like him but I can also see his warts and that this season has been a total disaster that frankly, I don't think he recovers from.
I'm not calling for him to be fired. But when you miss the tournament with not 1, but 2 NBA top 5 picks for the third year straight to boot - you are pretty screwed, baring a miracle. Thats being objective. He won't get fired this year nor should he. But no tournament next year? I think he would be toast. It's all hypothetical but it's trending that way sadly.
He is the captain of this ship. After 20+ years in the business he should have an idea of who can get the job done and who can't. Find the money.
Record? He is now 10 games over .500 in 9 years at Rutgers, and 20% of those games are against patsies. He is 31 games under .500 against Big 10 competition. Record?

Pike seems like a great guy and has been a tremendous face for our program. I'll always have respect for him getting us out of the abyss and into a position where NCAA bids not only happen, but are expected. I want him to be the guy that makes us a regular basketball power and hope that's his story here. To me, he gets a pass on the first few years here.
Team went from dreams of a possible elite 8 run with the talent to betting/ hoping to finish .500 in BIG play and way better than when they were 1-4. Pike loves fans like this.
My comment isn't about the OP and numbers is certainly entitled to his opinion. I hope he is right but I'd be willing to bet he is not (depending on the bet).
Find one post of mine that said anything pre-season about them even being a sweet 16 team. I wasn't close to being one of those kool-aid drinkers. IF I did anything incorrect it was believing the hype of the players he was bringing in AGAIN via transfers.
