There is absolutely no reason why Martini - the most overhyped portal add EVER- should have been playing at Grant’s expense. None. This game shows this. But player management is one of Pike’s worst flaws.

What were your thoughts on Martini when we landed him?
Of course, when you're shopping in the bargain section can't expect treasures.
Why was Martini recruited? On top of that why was he made a captain? Shows what a poor evaluator of talent Pike is!
Well I was in the strong minority that thought Martini was too small to play the 5 and too unatheltic to play the 4
I wanted a 3 and D player who could rebound at the 4 instead of a 3 and no D or rebound guy who turned into a mo 3 guy as well somehow

His rebounding numbers st Princeton was a major red flag, as well as his number of points inside of the three line
He's actually shooting a career high FG% this season but that is due to early season cupcakes
Listen, I'm on record for several years now calling Pike a horrible coach, but none of us knows why Grant hasn't played more - could be off court issues, academics, or a number of things. I won't knock him for that.
Is academics even a requirement these days?
