Penn state students - calling RU players N-word

Disgusting behavior. What do these fans think of their black coach and players?
Absolutely. The whole thing is bizarre. Racial make-up of two teams is nearly identical. But racial chants have no place at these games. I don't care whether they are directed at a black, white, or the only Japanese player on Nebraska. Completely inappropriate, and should be punished.

Caleb McConnell and other players were clearly upset with something after the game and it looked to be the students sitting in the front row right behind Rutgers bench. Penn State needs to investigate every student in that area and expel those responsible I bet the Rutgers bench could point out those who are guilty
If it happened it should have been dealt with by one of our coaches telling our PSU liaison who then contacts their head of security (or whoever the proper person is) who removes that person immediately. If there is somehow a breakdown on their end that needs to be reported to the B1G because I'm sure the last thing they want is egg on their face from one of their members regarding racism.

Again if this did happen it's a big deal, and steps need to be taken to show that this kind of behavior will NOT be tolerated and lead to expulsion of any and all guilty parties!

Is any of this corroborated? Note says “athletics” is extremely disappointed, I take that to mean the administration?

If so, they may have to make a statement.

Believe me - last thing I want to do is defend Penn state people but I too wonder if it was a widespread thing (which is a big issue) or an isolated idiot or two (still not good but there are a’holes in every group).

To be fair - as RU fans we have had several instances where people attributed the actions of a small number of fans to the larger hole of the RU fanbase

We had it recently with the Michigan game

And remember the Navy game way back when - “RU boos the Naval Academy” I was at that game. Some students apparently boo’d the opposing team as it entered the field (as happens in every stadium in every game) and some idiot writer made it out to be some anti-military statement. I was at the game. I didn’t even hear the boos what I heard and saw was the RU fanbase stand and applaud navy when they entered the field (the exact OPPOSITE of what was reported). Still makes me pissed decade+ as the article was just a fabrication and RU was dragged in the mud for a few days over a lie

Anyway - while it wouldnt surprise me if the actions were widespread (same people that still worship a pedephile-enabler) I still wonder if wasn’t a few a’holes. With that said, if it was “just a few” - those people are a unique breed - to stand out as a’holes amongst the sea of PSU cultists - wow that’s a special level of a’hole

A student section should not be behind the visitors bench in any arena. Put them in any other section.

Some of you who are saying "if" are missing what was said in the announcement .

"Furthermore , the Police have issued a warning to Athletics ...."

This shows to me that the Police went to athletics to report this and heard it. The word "alleged" needs to be used for legal reasons.

One last thing , ask most parents and students of NJ PSU students why they went to PSU, they might not say it out loud but no doubt part of it would be "RU is to diverse".

Well if this is the "cost" of getting students and other to attend PSU basketball games, it is truly not worth it. They are better off with the morgue atmosphere.

Because those people are idiots they might say "RU is to diverse" but an intelligent person would say "RU is too diverse"

Penn State is not diverse and is not racially friendly. Not good here in that regard.
Wife used to have to recruit there. Said the same. Whitest place in America outside the athletics dept. We always laugh looking at their crowds and say "what a diverse bunch" . White out has a whole different meaning in crappy valley😂😂

Diversity is one of the reasons I love where I grew up and NJ in general. Not that there aren't monochromatic areas here too.

You play the game and beat their asses. That's how you combat this nonsense.
Coaches aren't talking to people and reporting stupid ass fans.

These idiots mean nothing.

Was there - near the students - never heard it.

And I was on this board at the time - first time ever hearing this

Perhaps I didn’t hear it cause I was standing and applauding, with the majority of the stadium, when they entered the field
I was at that game, in the student section, the F the Navy chants absolutely happened. Was it a lot of people? No. But it wasn't just 1 or 2 either. Thankfully there were plenty of more level-headed students, myself included, who did their best to shut that shit down.

Then this speaks to one of my points - the problem with attributing the behavior of a few to the whole
