It is very hard not to like this guy. He came across as very knowledgeable, very likeable and self deprecating. Russo seems to really enjoy having him on. As an aside, he picked Michigan State as the National Champion.
B1G pride there... MSU got screwed bad though as the 8th overall seed which gets them stuck in Duke's bracket
I don't know whether he's just towing the company line or he genuinely believes it, but every time he is interviewed he repeats the B1G is the best conference.
Nah....he's playing the conference line....Izzo has been very complimentary of RU and this is reciprocation.....but who knows?
There is a not insignificant amount of the country (including recruits) that is unaware Rutgers is in the Big Ten. He's doing his best to combat that.
Towing the company line . His last game at stony brook the team got blasted by Kentucky in the tournament . Then he got the rutgers job and was on with beningo , who asked him if Kentucky would win it all. He said no Indiana was at the same ncaa site and they looked great. Indiana got drubbed the next game . He either didn’t know what he was watching or just pumping up the BIG. I think the latter. .
Pike did a spot on either wfan, or espn radio last year prior to the tournament. He picked every B1G team. I think he had an all B1G final 4.
He didn't know what he was watching? Huh? Pretty sure there are plenty of knowledgeable basketball analysts who get a prediction wrong here and there in the NCAA tourney. Upsets happen, in case you didn't know. No need to question our coaches basketball smarts..why?
